    hello,
welcome to a poorly worded question by garry

idk how to word this so i will give example from game
    >I am at gs2
    >playing on my IL lvl 56
    >leeching my cleric lvl 49 (started leeching gs when they were lvl 45 and 43)
    >reach lvl 57 on IL (shout out gms for the gm buffs, very nice)
    > after 40min realise my cleric isnt getting leech exp anymore
    >panic
    >make forum post.

    Garry out

tldr: Poorly worded: my characters' lvls are too far apart, im guessing, to leech at gs 2, what is the min difference to leech?

Should be a 5 level difference, but the EXP you gain from not being within range of the monster is lower.

To get the better EXP you'd have to be within 5 levels of the monster.
Ex. Monster is level 50, you have to be 45 to leech it (with full EXP)

You can leech exp if you fulfill one of the two conditions

    (i) not lower than five levels of the monster exp OR
(ii) not lower than five levels of your party attacker.

    Example gs2, monster level 63
if you are at least level 58, you can leech (Condition 1)

If you are level 50, and you party with two members, level 55 and level 56.
You will leech the exp for the monster killed by the level 55 pt member, but leech no exp for the monster killed by level 56 pt member (Condition 2).

    Garry don't be sad.
