Leeching and Meso sink

Disclaimer: This is a "chaotic" solution that would definitely upset a lot of players. This is just a start of an idea and, hopefully, a healthy discussion.

Step 1: Reduce leech EXP rate by a significant % (applied when the lvl difference between party members is higher than 'x').

Step 2: For a million (a couple million? a few million?) mesos players could buy a leeching coupon that would last 1 hour and restore, for that duration, the original leech EXP rate.

Very shortsighted and simplified results:

1. Leeching less popular in general, as hopefully sellers would need to cut on hourly prices so buyers could also afford the "leeching coupon";
2. Leeching still somewhat popular for richer players and thus creating an optional Meso sink;
3. Better economy (less inflation)?
4. Less AFK play (simultaneously, PQ and Quest rewards could be improved to incentivize less leeching).

 

Do you mind explaining why do you think that less leech = higher prices?

I can see how that would be the case with multi-mage farming nerfs but not exactly with leech.

 

I don't see a problem with hurting leech-buyers, au contraire, disincentivizing leech-buying is one of the goals I'm suggesting, while still having the option to opt for it, at current rates, for those who don't mind the "downside" of burning mesos.

 

Unfair to those that never played before, or bothersome to current players who plan to leech new characters?

It would be a baseline nerf, with a way to get current rates. While it would be harder it wouldn't be unattainable.
