Not a Bug Why is NPC chat bubbles disabled?

    NPCs only animate sometimes but they don't show bubble chats. Is it disabled on purpose?

    Heya,

    You are first person to point it out 2 years after our release!

    Yes, they are purposely disabled because they block people's own text, block your whole character, and the chat bubbles just appear every second with the same message(s) over, and over, and over, and over...

    Basically, 'we' see them as being annoying and useless, and seems like nobody ever asked us directly until now why they are not there!

    We basically just disabled the packet that handles those.

    I think the option should at least be there for us to re-enable them if we wanted to. Maybe make it off by default at first, and we can turn them on and off in config?

    The strings have been completely removed from the data files, so not really.

    I never said anything because I figured it was intentional, but I do think it’s a little unfortunate these were removed. There are a decent amount of NPCs with no dialogue at all outside of these chat bubbles. It leaves you wondering what the purposes of these NPCs even are.
