    Hi, based on the description, it seems like you have a "one-of-a-kind" item in Frederick and another of the same item in your inventory. Such an item could be, for example: Papulatus's crack of dimension. Kindly identify if you have any "one-of-a-kind" item in your inventory; trade it to another character, and then you can try retrieving your items from Frederick again.

    It's most likely the black book, transfer it to another account first or just drop it.
    You can only have one of those items at a time as JainaJaina has said.
