The Perfect Quest, Day 2

• another light mannies grind, made ~3.5m in raw mesos.
• sold some stuff in FM and put up more stuff
• planning to hit 160 before end of event because i heard shaolin 7F is busted AF after spawn changes. won't make much meso but it should be quick (supposedly 100m eph is average now???)

 

The Perfect Quest, Day 3

• another TINY mannies grind, made like 2.5m mesos lol
• still sick

spent most of the evening messing around with FL studio. i always wanted to try making music for fun and WOW its a blast. i watched through ~12 minutes of a 17 minute beginner tutorial then got WAAAAY caught up in trying to make a song.

nothing amazing but im rather proud of it (just like all the ugly things i make). more songs and hopefully more mesos coming soon.

imagine getting a CDs map in current meta lol. mannies are very decent for a shad (good movement, assaulter, bstep) and give POWER ORES which are pog meso now, along with their highly NPC-able equip drop table. plus its always empty there
not sure about mesos/hr but i'll take a measure next time i farm there for a decent length.

It's finally October. The nights are getting colder, and you may begin to feel a ghostly chill in the air -- that's right, the spooky legions have begun their approach.

...So... what better time to return to Nightghosts?

Night-who?

Nightghosts, also known as A Desolate Cemetery, is a well known, semi-popular farming map here on MapleLegends.


It features two mobs: Nightghost, and Dark Cloud Fox.


The ghosts themselves have a very good droptable, featuring such rarities as Claw Att 30% and the elusive Red Katana, along with other valuable 30% and 70% INT scrolls for capes, helms, and overalls.


If that wasn't incentive enough, there's a special exchange NPC in Showa Town who will take 100 of your Dark Cloud Foxtails or Triangular Nightghost Bandanas and give you a random reward in return.
Foxtails have a (small) chance to net you a Brown Work Glove, and the Bandanas have a (small) chance to reward you with a Yellow Adventurer Cape.

Sounds great, right?

Well, in reality it's nowhere near as sunshiney as it sounds. The map is annoying to navigate, you may farm for hours without seeing a single good scroll, and the exchange NPC will unceasingly troll you with worthless potions.

But if you're very, very dedicated... you might just begin to see the bright side of Nightghosts.


I've farmed here quite a bit in the past and collected some good data, but times have changed - since then, Skucci has gotten much stronger, Assaulter has been buffed, and scroll prices have changed drastically with the rona-wave. So this month we're putting this map to the test. Is it truly good, or is it all hype? How many Brown Work Gloves can we achieve in 30+ days of work?

• DRY DRY day!
• 1x Helm INT 30, 1x Cape INT 70, 1x YAC (our first)
• still no sight of the fabled BWG

i'm finally gonna start copying spencil2 and doing this for each entry because people seem to like it
(and so i can flex my stats and range)

~~~~DAY 3 of our all-month Nightghost marathon ~~~~

• DRY day. got some pity scrolls from the ghosts, but nothing amazing:
• 2x Dagger 30%, 1x Helm INT 30%
• IRL: forgot to mention but finally finished Musashi audiobook yesterday. ending was quite good. also listened to The Tales of Beedle the Bard which is great if you're into harry potter stuff, and only about 1 hr long. it was a free download w/ audible membership when i got it, not sure if that's the case anymore.
• still no BWG

• shorter session today, but rather fruitful:
• 2x Claw ATT 30%, 2x Dagger ATT 30%, 1x Overall INT 70%
• no BWG yet
• started listening to The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie. seems good so far, plus the audiobook is narrated by a cheeky brit. always a joy.

• some decent gachas for a change
