Most people play with their background music off, but for some reason I was always very attached to them. I've probably heard most tracks more times than you can imagine, but I still love listening to them to this day.

I felt like ranking my top 10 favorite tracks (excluding post-big bang content, there are some great tracks in post bb too though).

It was rough for me to decide what the last track would be on my list. I ended up picking Lith Harbor (honorable mention goes to Sleepywood). I feel like this track is pretty underrated.

The beginning is pretty tame but the track continues to evolve and is actually pretty unique but sticks to its beautiful base line (I love the direction it takes at 1:36 and it continues to evolve from that point)

I've probably spent so many hours in this area that I felt like it should not be on the list. But even though I turned it off at times, I still think its an amazing track that gets the feeling right the first time you enter the Deep Sea from the safe level 30 Aquarium zones: You know right away by the music and background that you are in trouble if you are not prepared.

They really nailed this track that combines a Deep Sea vibe with mystery and danger.

This cave track is another one I've heard many times, but I still know what it felt like the first time I entered Horntail cave. It starts very slow, and at 0:13 it starts with a kind of weird - chaos like tone that goes up and down creating a feeling of unease that fits the situation just right.

Descending deeper in the Guild Party Quest, this track starts when you enter the 4th and final zone before the final boss.

A very calm track that is very different from the other tracks in this PQ, but it really suits the tasks you are presented with. The monsters aren't the challenge here: You have to focus on your jump accuracy with 4 different mini jump quests challenges. I really like the setting here.

Neo Tokyo as a whole is a very cool and unique area, even though I don't really like the map structure of the future areas. Their tracks are also very chaotic and sometimes feel out of place completely.

The Tera Forest track however feels like it fits perfectly. It gives a mysterious time travel vibe combined with a forest track. You just feel excited the first time you hear this track and enter the tree.

Entering my top 5 this will probably be a controversial pick. We've all heard this track for hours on end as our party leaders are incapable of clicking the NPC 32 times every second and we've lost track (of time). This BGM quickly comes to mind whenever I think about Maplestory music.

I actually think most bosses in maplestory have pretty lame tracks. Ergoth and Zakum are very mediocre in my opinion and while the Horntail track starts great, I feel like around 0:20 it goes in a direction I don't really like.

The Pink Bean track keeps the epic pace on for the entire duration. The entire fights becomes twice as epic with this track playing and it really feels like a final boss like setting. The final fight of your Maple journey is here.

It feels pretty weird to put this track above the final stage of the Temple of Time, but it deserves this spot.

Descending into the Temple of Time, the cold setting and the music blend in together so well. You truly feel frozen in time, and killing 3.997 monsters here won't be an issue with this track playing in the background.

Well, this would not be a top 10 list without this track. I think most nostalgic players will remember this track fondly: it comes around pretty early in the game which means most players will either encounter it or regret not encoutering it earlier.

The smooth and calming track perfectly captures the feeling of hunting cute monsters inside a magical tree: we all wish we could go back.

Well, this is my favorite track of all time. This area is pretty niche and the music is not as iconic as some others on this list. The more calm and sad version of Ellinia, this area feels like wasted potential for me. It could have been so much more with additional content surrounding it, but sadly its pretty lackluster.

However; the aesthetics of this area combined with this track makes it truly magical and really makes me feel Maplestory.

Feel free to share your top 10 lists or thoughts~

Nice list, I like all of these too!

I feel like Aqua Dungeon is quite underrated, probably because by the stage people get high level enough to hear it they've long since switched off maple BGM. But it quite nicely conveys a sense of both danger and wonder, really apt for a deep sea map.

I would personally rank Remembrance (ToT green maps) as my #1. It's like the even better, "grown up" version of Missing You to me- it's meant to convey the joy of reminscing good memories in the past, such as all the good times playing maple and making friends. It has less nostalgic quotient than Missing You since less people got to the stage where they can hear it, but the composition has significantly more depth and complexity; I especially love the glockenspiel (? I'm not musically literate) that keeps a bouncy clock-like background rhythm throughout the song as it reminds me of maple characters jumping through maps spamming F2.

    My personal top 10:

    10- Fantasia (ludi pq)
9- Wherever you are (ludi clock tower)
8- Cash Shop (theme song for robbing kids)
7- Timeless B (deep clock tower, death teddy route)
6- Above the Treetops (lith harbor)
    5- Title Theme
    4- Snowy Village (elnath theme)
3- Come With Me (orbis tower)
    2- Crimsonwood Keep Interior
    1- Remembrance (ToT green maps)

Back in days there was Kawai Radio, those j-pop tunes make great entertainment during hours of grinding.
IMO background music makes me sleepy, to slow and dull.

Hey, no one said they have to be BGMs that are in ML. (Also, with a few exceptions, the quality of average pre-BB BGM really doesn't compare to a lot of the songs composed by Asteria.)

It's a great list you have there OP. Whenever I think of Maplestory, Lith Harbour Above the Treetops, Ludibrium Funny Time Maker, and definitely Ellinia Missing You are like the first few music that are stuck in my head and brings my nostalgia back. If I were to have a top 10, it's pretty hard for me, but I can try to edit this in a bit when I get it sorted. I'm sure it's similar to some of what is listed here and also should have its differences.
