Information Anniversary Event 2021 Balance Changes [Explained]

i believe my input is not welcomed/qualified since i'm only an economist and not a game economist:

i'm confident that a most of our mesos come from mage farmers and leechers, so the sweeper change will significantly reduce the rate of meso generation. i would expect this to lead to lower prices, reduced spending, reduced investment in assets. (aka deflation)

personally i'll be selling all my shit asap and will refrain from making any big purchases

edit: all the other changes are great btw, i appreciate that hard work. but i strongly oppose the sweeper one, and i don't even farm meso like most ppl i know

 

Great patch notes as always guys. I never intended to AFK hurricane on my future BM so I dont care about those whining they can't use an exploit anymore and I still have never had a NL cuz of waiting for NX and I like the fact you have to actually get good stars again. Makes it feel like maple.

Although selfishly could staff look into Marksman Strafe again? I would love them to be able to achieve knockback damage again at earlier levels like they used to. But that is minor nitpicking.

Looking for MapleLegends stimmy checks to stimulate the game economy. I think 10m/week per individual (not account) is a good start.

 

For a more serious post is mw30, FS, and other items going to see drop rate changes? Going from 2 clears a week to 1 is going to make an already fairly long wait even longer. From all the PB clears so far only 4 people passed mw and that’s over like a 5 month time period.

An exp buff to bosses that previously gave an abysmal amount is certainly welcomed, but just what is the rationale for having scar/targa, a level 140 boss, give more exp than dunas, a level 174 boss that takes much more effort and is now presumably made longer and more annoying with the change to its attack range and the increased frequency of its damage reflections?

Dunas still only gives about 45% of the exp that verga and nibergen give and 55% of the exp that nameless gives, with the last two fights being mind-numbingly dull and simple. This is also the second time Dunas exp has been buffed. Is there really a need to hold back on simply having Dunas give exp comparable to its other counterparts? I can't see this exp change getting players to do dunas where they wouldn't have previously; it's still incredibly exp-inefficient (and unenjoyable to most people).

With bosses consistently casting skills on cooldown, does that include weapon/magic cancels? Currently there's some decent lengths of time where stuff like HT doesn't have a cancel up, but if it does then we can anticipate it to feel more like Scarga.

With the addition of casting mass on cooldown doesn't that just make warriors completely unviable in HT given next to no cleave and an inability to touch arms?

 

Just gonna add that Dunas exp while the correct direction is not even close to enough, you could maybe further multiply that by 10x and it would still only be just about right.

Dunas is really really really not "same difficulty as Krexel", Krex is the boss you literally doze off doing while Dunas is quite possibly the most impossible to fall asleep boss in the game (probably besides pb, haven't done pb)

I honestly liked White Scroll event, and Maple Weapon events better. Making them common is also desirable. Ice Cream Chairs, Fruit Shaved Ice chairs are also included to wanted list.

Trying to level up, but private servers are impossible to level up because of lack of party quests and players. Only option is leeching, but its also impossible to make 300million Mesos independently also in this game. Which is obligatory required and set my Maplestory moderators to reach level 135+ for a single character. So two characters mean 600m. And I feel like that's not fair for players.

Seemingly making 300m more available to each player seems more fair.

the dunas exp change is really cool! a lot of the other changes look fun too

 

I trust most mage selling leech daily including me LOVE all skill change.
Because we are 100% loot drops by self(mage).

 

You could try grinding like everyone else

 

LOOL anyone catch how incredibly out of touch this part sounds? Hell, even Scarlion is harder than Krexel, let alone Targa, PB and Dunas. Just goes to show how out of touch the people making the balance decisions in this game really are.
