Not a Bug Nightshadow badge drop rate lower

    Description of the bug: (optional screenshot/video): Nightshadow badge drop rate lower
    What is supposed to happen?: Should've stayed the same unless changed.
    Where did you find and/or notice this bug?: Farming
    A step-by-step guide to re-producing this bug (optional):
    Extra information (optional):
    Only noticed this recently (yesterday and today) but nightshadow badge rates seem to be significantly lower than before. This is in Cavern of Valor, map with WR, Stormbreaker and Nightshadows.

    This was the hourly rates I was consistently getting before it changed.

    Now getting around near half of that. Got around ~110 in maybe close to ~3 hours? Never lived in this same cave for so long. :cry::sleep:

    This is my current badges. At this point I would have 225 Nightshadow badges and onto Lower Ascent for an ~hour but I am not even close to it. :cry::cry::sleep:

    It also coulda been that the map I was in was somewhat bugged as some maps tend to do...
    I shoulda tried changing channels.
    Shall try time it in tomorrows run... but today's run was definitely a struggle

    i farmed at the map with nightshadows and windraiders.. got 91 badges in 2 hours (shad, 3~4 shot'em)

    We didn't change the drop rate for the badges, that would've been announced with all the other changes. All I can think of is that it might be an unintended change since we added other items to the drop table, so adding new items = lower drop rate for badges? I'm not entirely sure how it works, but the drop rate is still the same as it was before in the code. That hasn't been modified. We can go double check for you though ^^

    It seems interesting from reading the few posts here and I'd like to know if anything was changed unintentionally as well since new items were added into the table :D

    Is this generally how drops work in Maple? You'd assume each drop has an independent chance, but what you're essentially implying is that each item is in some sort of an item pool where you only get one of several possible outcomes.

    Honestly dude I have no idea how a 20 year old mushroom game works, I'll go ask pasta to look into it and see if that's how it works and if we can adjust the rates to be how they were before (if it's true that adding new items lower the drop rate of badges)

    I believe what's happening is that in high rolling for the equipment, you're denying yourself the badges. By becoming lucky... it seems you're getting unlucky T-T

    Here is what I got farming in Cavern of Valor for 45 min; pretty similar to OP. Ignore the hearts and Firebrand badges

    Honestly thats faster than what I normally get when I farm on my bishop. However my bishop clears mobs twice as fast so hard to tell if the drop rate is lower than b4...

    As an aside, has anyone tried farming badges on a bishop and on an atking class? Haven't done enough exchanges on my bucc yet but I have suspicions now that mage ults have a droprate nerf for badges.

    This is just RNG, and people are now extremely focused on rates that are luck-based. Each item has a chance %, and we didn't touch the badges' before or after these changes.

    Just did another hour, got 72 in an hour. Looks like the past 2 days the channel I was in was just a bit buggy. :sleep:
    Strange how a few of us all felt it at the same time though.

    It's not strange, that's how RNG works; sometimes it's fast, sometimes it's slow. I don't think there's such thing as a "buggy channel" when it comes to drop chances...

    When i was card hunting i always went to ch1 cause i seemed to drop cards faster... LOL
