so, did 2 more again and have some info to share for you.
But first, these were my rewards:

After 15 runs, i've concluded the following:

• My avg meso gain with PickPocket (from looting only) is 8~9m per 2 exchanges (i only do these exchanges as a pair, 2 at a time)
• My avg exp gained is 32m per 2 exchanges
• My avg gacha drop is around 7~9 in total per 2 exchanges (the rare/common ratio changes, but the total amount is always within this range, i usually see 2 rares and 5~6 commons, but the last double run i did i saw 9 commons so...)
• The OA int drop ratio was 1 per 3 45 badges runs (i.e. 135 badges).

My rewards where lacking, at best! This is the full list of rewards that i've got on these 15 runs:

Was just curious, but it looks like taking all of your mesos/oa ints/rewards into consideration, assuming 90 mins per exchange, translates to a paltry ~6.3m/hr after 22.5 hours. Even farming nightghosts is better than that, albeit with nonexistent exp.


And Holp above is making just under 11m/hr based on his stats with 80 min runs (would be about 9.7m/hr with typical 90 min runs) after about 107 hours in.

And both of these numbers are bolstered by pickpocket. Methinks the exchange could use more of a buff, especially considering one can make more per hour much more consistently at ml5 and that the exchange was initially purported to be better than existing non-mage methods of making money.

 

Thanks to the exorbitant price of WS, raffle still feels like feast or famine to me. Drop table changes a few weeks back have negligible effects.

About 70 mins for all badges, using a stockpile of hearts that I had from farming dailies in past events, so I'd say 80-90 mins for the whole exchange.

 

It takes me roughly 5 hours per 2 exchanges ( I farm 90 badges of each everytime)

 

That would make it 3.8m/hr!

 

Just wanted to mention the value of Arcglaves have gone down quite a bit. Average att sell for around 12-15m rather than the 27.5m you listed as the value. Also BFs have gone down to around 35m I think. Might not make a huge difference with your calculations but something to note.

 

I only calculated the meso/hr for the numbers that were presented by Holp and Holly, which were 9.7m/hr and 6.3m/hr (excluding gachas) respectively based on a 90 min average. For the purpose of comparison, I don't think it to be ideal to include the EV of gachas into this mesos/hr figure because the amount of gachas one obtains from doing the cwk exchange is nothing spectacular, i.e. it is not more than what one would get from other comparable farming methods and perhaps even less, and the meso/hr figures often mentioned for these other places rarely factor in gachas.

If we were to replace their exchange rewards with the corrected average EV of 14.37, that would translate to 12.2m/hr and 13.3m/hr respectively (again, padded a bit by PP so lower for other classes), the former likely being more accurate given Holp's much larger sample size and more comprehensive data tracking.

Time Spent (mins) = 15 * 90 = 1350
Mesos/hr: (299.1m / 1350) * 60 = 13,293,333

Is making 12.2m/hr as a non-mage class considered good? Quite so. But considering that after about 22.5 hours in Holly has only managed to arrive at a meager average of 6.3m/hr, and Holp similarly at 9.7m/hr after about 120 hours in, one has to factor in and consider the implications of the extremely large variance associated with the exchange. Someone can put in 120 hours and still be over 20% below the average; that is spooky.

Even if we throw out variance and just look strictly at averages, it is indisputably true that the mesos/hr for the exchange is absolutely horrendous until you hit a WS (which is a bit ironic considering the exchange was purported to have a less "feast or famine" feeling to it), and on average that won't happen until you've done 25 exchanges, i.e. put in 37.5 hours. Until then, you're likely to be hovering between 5m and 7m, which is below what people would consider "minimum wage". 37.5 hours is a HUGE time investment. Basically, the barrier to entry with respect to time for the exchange is way too high to be non-sweat friendly (perhaps a solution might be to lower the amount of badges required).

You're right, I looked back and realized I misread a comment you made about the exchange simply being a profitable alternative to other ways of making money.

As far as the average is concerned for ML5, I would put it at 10m at the absolute lowest for someone who can mostly 1-hit based on my experiences there, which is already higher than what both Holp and Holly have achieved through the exchange and with far less variance. I plan to hopefully start a journal of sorts for ML5 soon to get a more accurate figure.
