Which games made your childhood?

I make this a "games you've played" instead, kinda. But I only list games I enjoyed... and only ones I can think of top of my head.

PC (Before I had internet):
-Lots of games not worth mentioning
-The Command And Conquer series: Tiberium Sun/Red Alert 2/Yuri's revenge/Generals/Generals Zero Hour
-GTA III/Vice City (I always prefer III over City, which is apparently an unpopular opinion)... San Andreas ran like shit, nor did I like the Story Line, tbh overrated game

Game Boy (advance):
-Pokemon Silver/Sapphire
-Pokemon Puzzle Challenge (Panel de Pon).. I owned at this game, love it. Best action puzzle game TBH.
-Wario Land series (2 and 3 especially)
-Mario (all of them probably)

SNES (fav console):
-Super Mario World
-Super Mario All Stars
-Yoshi's island (I prefer island over world any day, much more challenging)
-Donkey Kong Country Series (2 > 1 > 3)
-Lufia II Rise of the Sinistrals (One of best yet most underrated RPG's out there.. I can't get into FF or Chrono Trigger at all due to this, but Lufia 1 sucked)

N64:
-Banjo-Kazooie (didn't really like the sequel (tooie)... collectathon games should come back...)
-Super Mario 64
-Donkey Kong 64
-Pokemon Puzzle League ("same" as challenge but on n64)
-Pokemon Stadium (1 + 2)

PC (when I got internet):
-GunBound (Thor's hammer/World Champion) (played from 2006~2014 non-stop)
-R.O.S.E Online
-The Command And Conquer Series (same games but online)
-And of course MapleStory.

I've started MapleStory for first time back in 2007 or so when it went Beta in at Maple Europe. I got to level 15 and quit because it was so boring, went back to GunBound. In 2008 Diabllo (the owner of one of the GunBound server I've played for a lot of years) went to a MapleStory server called LocalMS, apparently the second Private Server to date (first being OdinMS). This was when I played MapleStory again for second time, but I was still absolutely horrible. I got to level 25 as a beginner and didn't even know job advancements existed, go figure. LocalMS got shut down by Neckson and I have moved away from MapleStory, again back to GunBound.

In 2012 I slowly got demotivated in GunBound because the general game started to die , so I looked for a new game to play, once again I was interested in MapleStory, so I looked at GTOP for a server I could play. I only looked for v55 or v62, didn't care about rest. Found ClassicMS which did just wipe (Nov 2012) and was about to re-open, great. Knew the game a bit better this time, but still had a lot of issues. The server got a lot of things I didn't like, so at level 93 I have quit due to lack of motivation and the server sided issues and lack of fairness between donors and non-donors.

Moved to AltruisMS, wasted my time. However, met some friends (hi @CHANEL). Moved to NobleStory and that's where I had most fun in a Private Server thus far. Closer to a GMS-like server and active updates, however still some things I didn't like, mostly Event related rewards. Played from Feb to Aug of same year and staffed between May and July or so. Got to level 181 which is highest I got so far in a Private Server, pretty proud of it.

And thus around August after my quit I failed to find a server that fit 100% for me, thus the project MapleLegends has started. For my previous GunBound project with phnx, it was creating a GunBound emulator from 95% scratch, making it function exactly like the official game. The project succeeded but the emulator is now eating dust due to drama within GunBound community. Who knows someday it comes back..

MapleLegends has a similar project. MapleLegends aims to have everything working as close as possible as the official game. To me I play Private Servers because they offer mostly an earlier version no longer available by official means (in this case GMS 0.62). This is why I like the direction to make it as close as possible function like the official game, so it feels you are still playing GMS 0.62, not some fake version/server. Both my GunBound project and Maple project is about getting a version running that is no longer available, which is why I am such a "GMS-Like" person and much less of a "custom content" person.

Anyway, that's my bit and pieces about MapleStory, as well as some personal views
