Your first and highest Pre BB character in Maplestory!

lol first character : lvl 17... the struggles.
Last: lvl 70 chief bandit (forgot the name but was probably similar name to Exile) day before BB came out lol

 

level 46, assassin. it was hacked, and I still don't know how.

 

I can't remember the IGN of my first but this was my highest level. I got hacked around v7x.

This character is from late 2005, I was 10 years old. Couldn't spell for shit and put AP into int and luk oh and I was a spearman lol

I played when Windia was the newest server. It took me forever but I hit 100 and then went to private servers and then quit again. This January is the first time I have come back to Maple in a long time - Probably close to 6-7 yrs.

 

My first character, created in 2005 around v.3x

My main, created in 2008.

I am from Broa and I was in one of the top guilds known as Jjang. I finished PREBB at level 178 on my Dark Knight and 120 on my Bowmaster. Came back and played for a few levels after bb and didn't like it so I quit. Played like a no lifer, wish I had screen shots of the good times.

 

Pre BB and Pre 4th job i had a level 14x Chief Bandit. It wasn't legit the last 20 or so levels. The leveling at that time was so ridiculous I ended up sharing the account with a good friend from school who went on to use a meso explosion exploit. You guys remember that exploit where CB's could drop arrows instead of mesos and bomb them (i recall the release of the exploit twice) ? Yeah... he ended up doing that and got us temp banned and removed from the rankings =(

I have no clue why I chose that name..
But I lost this acc a while back (maybe around v85). So I have another account with higher level characters but I didnt join again until after BB.
I recently got the email for that account back and man the nostalgia was real.

 

PREBB back in 2006~2008 in MapleSEA.
I got hacked :/ and quitted.

Possibly -
1. This was around the time torrent browsers like LimeWire were used as a primary means of downloading digital media.
2. I know a lot of maple sites back then were farmed with SQL injection attacks among the many other exploits that exposed their databases to the attackers. And it's fairly common for people to use the same username/pass across different services. So attackers were able to get their login credentials that way.
3. Cross site scripting attacks were also a common practice around that era. What would happen is you would be browsing a legit maple site like Hidden Street and a attacker would inject java script code into HS's webpages. Then you would open Maplestory and type in your username/password in the Maple client. In the meantime, the site's java script would capture all your key strokes and send them back to the attacker. This method was also used to capture users logging into sites like Basil Market and not just Maplestory it's self. I can't explain the pin though...
