Accepted Remove dash from assassinate

    Let’s face it, it sucks. It kills lowly washed shads in zakum, it counts as an extra attack in pb which is a bummer when it DRs, it’s annoying to have to reposition because it happens on accident for krexel and such. Does anyone actually like it? It’s not exactly useful, is it? Plus, it’s the only hit in assassinate that can crit? What’s up with that? Plus plus, apparently it also costs extra mana as if it’s a separate skill (https://forum.maplelegends.com/index.php?threads/assassinate-mp-usage-on-dash.44178/)?

    I remember as a lowly washed shad being terrified of nate dash randomly proccing and throwing me into the jaws of death that was Zak body.

    That being said, using the dash repeatedly is actually optimal dpm at zak, verga, nib and toad, provided one can tank and stand on top of body. It's also useful for repositioning when you get knocked back or to follow bosses around (it's what makes shads pretty decent at targa). The dash is pretty much the only thing that distinguishes shads from the stale "brandish goes brrrr" gameplay outside of HT as well.

    I agree, the way that you describe it feels like "pulling teeth" the only thing thats cool about it is the animation of the dash its like Shadowers are using rush!

    But seriously though I'd hate to experience it if I played the class, too.

    You still hit into reflect (I. Frames won't save you from that) and you still move sadly.

    We are looking then for a GMS Assassinate more or less then:
    -Press the skill once do the first hits, press the skill a second time after do the last hit
    -The last hit is not a rush, you stand where you are
    -Doesn't need Dark Sight
    -Going to Dark Sight does increase the damage and staying in it increases the damage even further
    -Can crit (Why not, the first hits are crit locked and only the last hit can crit)

    I don't know if this is possible but it would be neat

    Nate could use a full rework, I'd look into more than just the dash. Having Dark Sight + nate be the optimal thing to do while making that reaction ping based means that low ping shads get shafted, making North America the only Shadowers getting close to their theoretical DPM. It's a skill that needs a lot of love.

    I believe implementing it like this they would be able to weave animation cancel nate + meso explosion simultaneously which would be a huge buff for them and shouldn't be a thing.

    That's how it is now in GMS you are supposed to use meso explosion between casts (ME has no cast delay like Shadow star), this doesn't has to be like this just remove the Dark Sight need and the last hit.

    Maybe make nate work like Dark Sight? As in when Dark Sight is maxed out it ignores the movement speed, so for nate at max level Dark Sight won't be needed?

    I'd really like to see the ability to change target for the dash if the first four nate lines have already killed the monster, especially since it already behaves essentially as a separate action.

    Washing optional. Having the dash actually benefits dpm now, but only if you’re washed..? Optional? Wearing equips is optional too :)

    Isn’t that what they have assaulter for, though?

    Or.. you know.. remove the dash and use assaulter

    I agree with you OP. I started playing on this server after the Anniversary event started and trying out Shadower for the first time (unwashed ofc). The Dash is highly annoying. Maybe its because I'm on NA East Coast.. the dash just randomly procs even when I'm just trying to stand still using Ass+Bstep combo. I'm not sure if the Dashing was less frequent with Dark Sight being apart of Assassinate but the Assassinate>Bstep macro just causes me to dash too much. Bstep>Assassinate macro reduces the frequency of Dashes but still Dashes when I don't want it to. I honestly just wish the Dash was removed. I can use Assaulter for repositioning or just walk up with my character.
