I am now officially the Blue-Eyes White Paladin! Yay! Level 120, and a whole laundry list of things to do. Remember that theme park attraction I was talking about in Leafre? Now, you need three Certificates to be able to enter, instead of camping a fat dragon on a 1.5hr respawn timer. And so...



Got my Zakum Certificate, the first of three! Thank you so much thedgafclub and MrTwabbles, and everyone else in the picture for coming together on such short notice to help me out! (If you have a forum account and see this post and are in this picture do let me know so I can tag you too!). Oh, and thank you for waiting while I collected those Rough Dragon Skins because I completely forgot that you need to finish the Dragon Elixir quest at least once to be eligible for the Mark of the Squad quest!



Papulatus too! Thank you SwordArt aka Cammie for carrying me! He may be a (EDIT: well-washed) Corsair, and he also has a strong core!

Last and definitely not least... Pianus! Two at the same time, too! Just like in various situations depicted in many Japanese cartoons, I would have struggled taking two at the same time. Thankfully god-tier Viper (and Balance Team superstar) Lynx came over to help! Unfortunately there was no photo op afterwards because he had to rush back to his HOTS game. But I did give him an OA INT 60% scroll that dropped from left Pianus for his time!

And now... time to get a HTP! Can't wait! For now, @charstats and bloodwash stuff!

Got my Horntail Necklace! It's not very good, but I'm just gonna stick with it and look to reloot it somewhere down the line. Many other things left to go!



Silver Mane mount too! 170% Speed is pretty nice! I farmed the items myself, but the 50 million Meso fee... hoo boi. Mega feelsbad.





Finished up the various Paladin skill quests! Here are some notable moments.

Did the Ravana pre-quest! Actually, I did it quite a while ago but I'm only writing about it now because I killed the boss (lmao spoilers).



It's simple, really. As the picture above says, we're going to lure him out with some candy and beat the living daylights out of him. Easy enough, I suppose!



Moments before heading into the Unfinished Battle...



It wasn't too hard, with level 22 Blast! Took about twelve minutes to solo each time. It was incredibly boring, though. Literally just hold down Blast. I guess that's one downside of old school Maplestory, but oh well. I'm not too fond of current Maplestory's gameplay where HP literally doesn't matter and the game is so damn fast paced with one-shots galore with Neckson finding new and innovative ways to potion/heal lock you during boss fights. And I know what I'm talking about because I have 8k Legion/Union and I've cleared all current content up to Hard Will back when he was the final boss on my Level 252 Bishop, but that's another topic for another time.



Totally unrelated, but holy shit look at the TMA of my Bishop's weapon in MapleSEA. I no longer have it sadly, but it's an old screenshot and a reminder of my poor life decisions...

Oh, right... where was I? Ravana! I killed him and he dropped some nice NPC-ables. In one especially lucky kill, I got:

I'll probably do 2x Ravs every day going forward. Have plenty of Sunbursts (candy) to convince him to get into my van (Stonetooth Sword), and it's good EXP! So yeah, I'll be doing that alongside daily Petris. I'm also considering levelling my F/P Arch Mage another 16-ish levels so I can 3-hit Gold Martial Artists and do 5-6 leech, but idk tbh. Not too fond of the Petri rotation.

Entry #30



My Ravana solo is a little faster now with max Blast! I don't think it'll get any faster until I max out Holy Charge, so I'll post an update after that!



I also did Papulatus and it was a pain in the ass without Stance. Still good exp, though the Papulatus Clock hitbox is kinda wonky when he gets KB-ed.




Pianus kills! Many of them were up so I killed them (both lefts and rights), bringing in my Bishop at the last minute to HS before dealing the final blow. It was pretty decent EXP, and I collected nine Minature Pianus-es for my Hero's Will quest. Oh, and with Pianus being weak to fire damage, as well as Echo and MW20, I was able to break 100k for the first time ever! I was hitting between 60k-100k, and that's quite the spread despite swords being touted as having stable damage! Now, I shudder to think of the variation in damage for BW users between Blasts. Oof.

Regardless, that's a big milestone for this Journal! Yay!

Lore-wise, Pianus (also known as the Doom Flounder) was a heavenly fish who ate their best friend out of hunger. For this, they got banished to the depths of the Aqua Dungeon. Mega feelsbad, because I can 100% relate to that. Did you know that the real Pianus is the one on the right side, and the one on the left side is an illusion the real Pianus creates to keep itself company out of loneliness? I don't know why I know this.

Level 140, and 30,000 HP! Sadly that's with event equips, but I believe natural HP growth will finish up the rest! Otherwise, I have plenty of excess MP for HP washing. I'm talking like...

Thailand is saved again. Yay! Tom yam soup and massages for everyone!

With maxed Holy Charge, I was able to solo Ravana just a little bit quicker! Admittedly I can probably push a faster timing if I just spammed Blast and ignored the adds Ravana spits out en masse when he hits a specific range of HP, but I didn't want them molesting my Bishop so I took some time to kill them with ACB. Oh well.

Removed my base INT! That's an additional 36 STR, which is like 7-ish Weapon Attack? Idk. Either way, here's my range with MW20, cider, and Echo! I'm not sure if it's any good since I don't have any one to compare with. Back in the days of pre-Big Bang Basilmarket (anyone remember that forum?) there was a damage range thread for each class and people would post their ranges and gear and it was nice. That forum is long dead, but back in the day it was a hive abuzz of Maplestory discussion (mostly GMS stuff). So much good stuff, and it's all gone now.

Come to think of it, there isn't really much to read about pre-Big Bang Maplestory these days. Forums aren't very active and I've exhausted most of the stuff posted here already. I've even read the various discussions on HP washing where people bang on the same dead horse over and over in an almost seasonal way. If anything I am desperate to find stuff to read.

Speaking of nostalgia, there is this thread from the old MapleSEA days where the Hero community used to gather that was transplanted from the long-dead MapleSEA Asiasoft Forums - the Fighter/Crusader/Hero/Soul Master's Lounge. Do take a look if you want some good ol' nostalgia! There was also a community thread for Paladins (titled the Paladin Bar) as well as one for pure Pole-arm Dark Knights, but I can't find them anymore sadly.









I think my Ravana solo is a bit faster now. I've been bossing every now and then! Mostly been farming mesos on Elliy by selling 1 hit petri trio leech on the daily for 3 hours a day daily so joining boss runs is hard. At least for now. I've been farming mesos to buy coins to get...



It's still a work in progress. I plan to buy 3x 100% WS service to finish it since I'm extremely risk-averse. I'm not sure if I can finish this grind but I'll do my best! It is what it is I suppose...

Now that I'm done washing, I saved up NX to change my look! I saved up about 70k+ NX, but I got it in about 10 tickets! Pretty lucky! This was Elliy's old look, but Elliy now looks like:

Quite a while ago, I had art commissioned of Elliy's old look by the very talented Summer Rain! This art commission isn't related to any in-game transactions (she doesn't take commissions for Meso) and I commissioned her work outside of ML, so do have a look! Sadly I can't put the full-size version here because I suspect it's too big of a file.

Bought 100% WS service from my guildie HEEM! Took 10 white scrolls to pass and I paid him 1,200 coins, but I suppose the 200 coins are worth the peace of mind. Two more slots to go! But for now, I'm rebuilding my coin collection. Decided to gamble on some Pouch 5s and got:

Totally unrelated, but one of my guildies (Lin ) made a video that will be released in a couple of hours from this time of writing. Sadly I don't think it's what I want it to be. But one can still dream...

It's done! Kinda? Thanks to HEEM, I got 2x 100% White Scroll service and finished the remaining slots on this godsword of mine! He decided to yolo the last two slots in one sitting because he was, in his words, "feeling the RNG".









Nothing to see here people, it's only like 6-8b worth of chairs for collateral being passed around. Y'know, in case HEEM forgets to check the 'Use White Scroll' box in Legendary Spirit...

Why? How? What does that even mean? Who knows. He went 5/24 for two slots passed, so there's that. And now I'm in debt for like 600 coins, so Elliy isn't quite done farming yet! But at least I don't have to worry about the risk of yolo-ing White Scrolls and the possibility of RNG bending me over, doing me from the front and the back while I'm on all fours like I'm in some Japanese cartoon. I would attach an image/GIF to illustrate this but then this thread would get deleted, so... yeah. Use your imagination!

I'm just glad my godsword is safe and sound and made! Honestly, it was really hard finding a 100% White Scroll seller. I tried messaging random rich people, mostly from Pasta and Beeters, and they were all like 'nahhhh I'm good dawg'. I swear, it was like...

Paid off the last 600 coins! I'm now debt-free. This actually happened last week but I didn't get around to posting it till now.

There's plenty to do now, such as leeching myself to 163 and attuning to the various bosses by doing their respective prequests, but I've been on break playing Classic World of Warcraft instead. I'll be back sometime soon, hopefully. But for now I do need a breath of fresh air (figuratively speaking) after religiously selling Petri leech every single day for 3 hours a day, 6 on weekends. It's not that I hate leeching because leeching is actually decently fun, but I do want to play other games too.

On a totally unrelated note, I commissioned an artist on Skeb (with real money) to draw a character who'll be in a webnovel I'm currently working on! Her name is Arisa Ishii, and she is a delinquent-turned-anime student council president who got Isekai-ed to a fantasy world! And then she failed in her quest and got sent back in time to do it over! Have a look!
