It was around server time 18:25.

I was in FM 1-5 after checking my store, and I saw something quite perplexing to me:

A guy was standing beside his store (let's call him X), and then

1. Another guy (let's call him Y) appeared in the room (I don't think he entered from the portal, so it was probably by changing channel but I'm not 100% sure)
2. Y dropped one item (it was a Cherry Blossoms chair) right on top of X
3. The item was quickly picked up (99% sure X picked it up)
4. Y immediately disappeared (not sure if he cc'ed or dc'ed)
5. After a short while, Y appeared again, and repeated the process (dropping different items)

The whole thing happened between X and Y several times (3 or 4 times I think) with a short interval between each cycle of events, lasting for about 5 minutes in total. I remember the second item that Y dropped was a Princess No Chair, and later he dropped another Cherry Blossoms Chair, but I can't remember the others (I think they were all chairs though).

After Y stopped showing up, X remained at the same spot, appearing afk. I clicked his store, and found those items I mentioned above enlisted. I'm not sure if the same thing recurred later, since I alt-tabbed off the game.

I mean... I wonder what I saw was rwt? I can't make sense of what happened in front of me as legitimate, honest trading. It seemed too suspicious to me for Y to quickly disappear after dropping an item. Why didn't they simply use the trade function? And if Y was X's mule or something, wouldn't it be better to do this through storage transfer?

I recorded a video on my phone but it only captured the last instance of the event. It also showed X's ign but only a portion of Y's. I'll block their names in the video for now.

It's common for people to drop/trade stuff for their mains after buying on their alts. Depends on the person, if they care or not about mesos, especially if they're rich then it doesn't matter to them.

Unrelated, but a tactic I recently learned to avoid tax is to be in a party with the person you're paying/transferring funds to then drop, and subsequently loot 50k meso bags.

It will be automatically split to 25k between the two of you and will take a long while to complete especially if you're transferring large sums, but at least you wont be paying tax.
