Raising level cap past 200 discussion

They should have uncapped level cap following the current exp pattern but you gain no stats on level up. You just get a higher number and can have "fun" trying to climb to rank 1

 

Don't think that is something that fits with Legends, though I could imagine the game gets less rewarding once the yellow bar doesn't move anymore.

Maybe a "Hypothetical level" ranking, based on the amount of exp gained after level 200 could be a thing? Maybe even reset it after a certain amount of time and give some (non-monetary) rewards to the top players of that time frame? Just an idea, not a super serious suggestion.

 

As much as how fun gaining experience would be past level 200, that defeats the purpose of "old school maplestory" which everyone playing is here for the nostalgic experience.

 

Did you just assume why I play legends?

 

I propose we raise the level cap by class for balance. Dk max level 420.

Yes.

Is it bad to lose players who quit when they reach level 200?

Yes.

Is there a downside to increasing the level cap (and stat cap) and doing nothing else?

Idk, doesnt seem like it to me.
