    I've heard all about it but never had the time or interest to play it/learn about it.

    Its a game where you can pick from over 70 champions (characters to play). The setting is usually a 5v5 game, you and other people from around the world VS another 5 people.

    The people you get placed with are in the same ranking status as you "Elo as you". Unless you'd prefer to play normal games, which have no impact on your rank games, they are mainly for fun.

    There are positions such as:

    Top lane: Usually for tanky (a lot of HP) champions
    Bottom Lane: 2 players, ADC (Attack damage Carry) & Support role
    Middle lane: Usually for AP (Ability power / Mages) champions
    Jungle: Roams the map killing inside the jungle and ganks (comes to lane and helps kill) the opposing team.
