New player - Is archer worth playing?

Yes.

 

It's a fairly strong attacking class and it has one of the best buffs in the game (sharp eye). One of the main things that push people away from archers is their health; archers often need to hp wash to boss in late game.

 

All the classes are "worth playing" tbh.. but it all goes towards your interest.
Archer is a really nice class, late game though.

 

Depends on what you define as worth, your damage is pretty miserable until you have a reasonable amount of points in mastery. You'll be pretty squishy. HP washing isn't really that fun and will probably handicap your damage even more. You'll have to ask yourself, do I care about late game (120+)? If yes, expect to have some frustrating times, otherwise if no, archers have reasonable second and third jobs.

It depends on your play style. I'm a filthy casual so it's easy for me to enjoy this squishy low dmg class <3 screw hp washing lel

Play style always matter, in every MMORPG.
It's not a good example.. but I like using a one-sword style class in every MMORPG but I dislike Fighters in maple, so I chose Spearman.
