Eyoo! I was inspired by all of the lovely Journals on the forums to start my own Journal. I used to think it was always too late to start one for myself, as I always viewed a Journal as something you commit to on a fresh start. However, I have been very eager to finally take my corsair into some content that doesn't involve hanging on a rope and leeching experience, as the only other class I have done a lot of bossing on is limited to just a Paladin and Shadower. Corsair also has a special place in my heart, as I Played Corsair and also Cannoneer (Another Pirate Explorer Class) on GMS many years ago. I hope you enjoy reading throughout this journal and overseeing the journey of Qubsane!

The first entry of the journal just so happens to be Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest. This content was one of the main motivational piece of content that pushed me to play Corsair, as the few times I fought Margana as a Paladin I was shocked on how Chill it was compared to Cleave with the constant waves of mobs that Red Nirg summons.

However, I already went into this fight cautiously, as at the time of writing this entry, I still have a decent amount of base int. The precaution I took for this was to multi-attack mage pin, and that I would bring in my Paladin character to help take down Margana. Here is a picture of the current stat page with Cider, MW20 and Echo.

Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest: Run 1
Qubsane's first Crimson Wood Keep, to be honest I was quite nervous as this was my first time using a Ranged class within a boss fight, and especially as a Corsair I wanted to make sure I didn't break the pin, accidentally heal under Zombify, or for my bishop to die while Dispelling Margana.

Run 1 was quite a smooth run as Crimson Wood Keep PQ goes. I took a few screenshots during the run, tried to incorporate some action shots of the runs.

    upload_2023-10-19_2-20-59.png

    upload_2023-10-19_2-21-15.png

One thing that I am still unsure about is the placement of the Bishop that Dispells Margana. I was told by some friends that it is best to stay ontop of Margana itself, and Have the 3 Dispell Macro. While I have also heard some say to stay on the left Statue on the first Image. Please let me know which you prefer and which is better/worse.

Some notable things I wanted to mention was using Wrath of the Otcopii. At the moment of the entry, It is only level 7. I found it rather difficult to keep up the Otcopii consistently, and when I did keep them up I noticed the Aggro of Margana got funky. To my understanding from other Corsairs, the Octopus is a very strange skill when it comes to handling Aggro. After seeing it First hand it was quite tricky to juggle, As my Corsair at the moment is Barely able to hit the 20,000 knock-back thresh hold to keep pin by itself. I don't think this will be an issue later on as Qubsane gets stronger, as I should be able to consistently hit the damage needed for knock-back much more consistently. I ended up defeating Margana with around 18 mins remaining on the Timer.

The Sweet, Sweet DPM: Run 1
I decided to do a @DPM 30 for both my Corsair as well as my Paladin, as I was very unsure of the speed I would clear, I decided to play it safe rather than try to narrow it down to the moment on death. This was with SI / SE / Echo/ Ciders / MW 20. Paladin did not have SI

    upload_2023-10-19_2-29-5.png

    upload_2023-10-19_2-29-21.png

I was very surprised to see my corsair to have higher dpm than the paladin, as I have 200 int more, as well as my paladin having my higher attack gear. In my Paladin's defense, it is definitely not the best class to fight Margana, as it is Resistant to Fire, Ice and outright immune to Holy. Leaving Lightning Charge as the only charge to fight Margana with. Notably, I noticed an issue that I never had to deal with before this run. Heron's (the pirate boss) shark wave attack. This attack is infuriating to deal with, as unlike a Night Lord that is on Mage Pin, you will be taking every hit of those Sharks. DPM was probably affected due to Heron's skills, as I needed to keep repositioning both the Corsair, The Bishop as well as my Paladin from time to time when stance fails (90% btw). It was unfortunate that my Battleship ended up breaking when Margana was at about 30% hp, which also hurt the number too. I am unsure if is worth using Baskets in this scenario (or in general) as the boosted Avoidability maybe useful.

Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest: Run 2
I decided to duo attack instead with my Shadower for run 2, as I had a feeling it might be more useful with Smokescreen and also to charge up Assassinate while I reposition my other characters. However, During this run one of my Cleavers disconnected on all clients, losing Speed Infusion and Echo. We decided to push through and see if we can complete the Run 2 with only 1 cleave. Here are some action screenshots of run 2.

    upload_2023-10-19_2-48-5.png

    upload_2023-10-19_2-49-41.png

A specific thing I wanted to try this run was to try to use the Octopus much more frequently. I wanted to see how much it specifically influences DPM, even if the aggro of Margana gets a bit wonky. I also realized on the power of Smoke Screen, as not getting hit while on the Battleship is a Corsairs best synergy. Nothing much else to note in this run, Margana was Defeated at the 25 minute mark, as our Bowmaster finished Heron sooner with the power of an Onyx Apple.

The Sweet, Sweet DPM: Run 2
    upload_2023-10-19_2-56-46.png

    upload_2023-10-19_2-58-3.png

This was another DPM 30, As this time I anticipated the Bowmaster to use an Apple to help defeat Heron, and after Heron's defeat I would assist the Solo Cleave with the other 3 bosses. I was happy to see already making a small increase, as I felt more comfortable with the fight, even under these specific circumstances. Something I would want to keep in the mind for the future is seeing if it is worth muling Smoke Screen, specifically for corsair as getting knocked around and having the boat break is a huge DPM loss. The battleship broke again this run, around the same time, however I went into the Boss room with a 70% hp boat, as I forgot to relog after the first run to reset the Battleship HP. Another thing I would consider is to specifically have my Buccaneer with me to Time Leap myself, however im unsure if it is worth to have a Time Leap mule for something like Crimson Wood Keep for when the Battleship breaks.

    The Loot
For the fun of it, I will post any notable loot throughout the Journal if applicable or juicy. Here is a picture of the Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest Spoils
    upload_2023-10-19_3-14-5.png

    upload_2023-10-19_3-14-34.png
Unfortunately, one of my party members was not able to reach the BFC cape in time before the bonus ended, so I ended up looting it before we poofed out of the room (Sorry Maui). The Blackfist Cloak is a notable upgrade, as I used a poorly scrolled 4 attack cape with some STR as a placeholder, and the scrolling for it turned out well. I scrolled STR as I need just a small amount of it to use my Dragonfire Revolver.

    Conclusion
I am glad on how my first experience of being a Ranged character in Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest turned out. I feel like there's a lot of room for Qubsane to grow, as well as ways to help optimize and make runs smoother overall. If you read this far, Thank you fello Legend for reading this large wall of text! I will try to update this Journal regularly as I run more content and push Qubsane to its limits!

GrimSanityGrimSanity i like putting the dispelling character 1 characters width to the right of mage, since poison cast will KB left and touch damage will KB right. You usually bounce back and forth here without the need to reposition unless pirate starts chain sharking.

    "Flai help I'm grieving Qubert"

With regards to the shark attacks that run was very dirty on my end. I was having some serious aggro issues from either the mules below, ping or maybe both? Generally if I lose aggro/puppet it's resolved within 1-2 sharks but that run was very problematic. For bishop placement in terms of what is most ideal for mage pin I'm not sure, but for pirate pin any less chars that can be near/on range platform the better. My smoothest runs are when the bish is << platform and the NL is standing close enough to stab mage lol. I wish the devs would look into pirates aggro issues because my puppet will often break entirely if I stop attacking temporarily which should never happen with any mobs.

All in all it was a fun run and I hope I didn't grieve yiu too badly

    Qubsane's Journal Entry #2: Scar

For Entry Number 2 I decided to try out Scar. I've decided since my last entry I wanted to try to improve attacking on multiple clients and also to try it on a boss that does a bit more damage than the bosses in Crimsonwood Keep. Brought in my Paladin, as a Paladins best friend is Scarlion. I also used to do many Scar for my other characters, whether it be a helmet for a mage, to going through the process of scrolling. For these runs, I didn't necessarily care about the loot, I just wanted to "train" myself with juggling a few clients. I decided to bring in a friends come inside to take the Scarlion helmets. Shoutouts to Gurk & Jack for coming along and keeping me company inside the Spooky World, and for Jack for helping me out in Run 2! Here is an update to the Stat page, notable from the last entry I have gained a few more levels and also the extra attack from the newly acquired Black Fist Cloak.

    upload_2023-10-28_5-14-29.png

    Scarlion Boss: Run 1

Qubsane's First Scarlion run (When they weren't looting a helmet) was sloppy to say the least. I tried to do my best to keep Octopus up at all times however I slowly started to use it less throughout the fight, and for the Third Body alone to not use it. Thankfully because of Bullseye, I never had an incentive to ever defeat the Scaredy Scarlions that Scarlion Boss summons out once it reaches certain HP thresholds. Because of this, majority of the fight was getting knocked around for 1 damage by the Scaredy Scarlions and getting juggled around. I was only able to take one "action shot" screenshot during this run.

    upload_2023-10-28_5-7-27.png

This run specifically I played it like a coward, as I was afraid of any attack that Scarlion did as at first, I thought it would hit me for over 8,000 damage. However, when I accidentally took a hit when Scarlion's 3rd body was at 30% hp, the hardest hit I took was 7.4k. After not dying to a swipe as well as a body touch, It occurred to me that I can take Scarlion's abuse. Another Corsair related issue I ran into was how Octopus works with Bullseye. At the time, I was unfamiliar if Octopus will focus down whatever is the primary target of Bullseye, or if Bullseye will start spitting at the Scaredy Scarlion's. I decided not to Ocotpus during Body 3 for that reason, and this is also true for run 2. After many weapons Cancels, Scarlion was taken down with 15 mins remaining on the timer.

The Sweet, Sweet DPM: Run 1
    upload_2023-10-28_13-28-38.png

    upload_2023-10-28_13-28-46.png

I decided to do a DPM30, as I know from past experiences Scarlion run times are a bit strange to me. Sometimes with bad RNG cancels, it adds an extra 5 mins to the run, while if the cancels are majority Magic Cancels, it will save me an extra 5 minutes. But Going to the @DPM 30, this run was definitely rough. I think because of the fact that I decided to play passively for majority of the fight, even with the safety of the Scaredy Scarlions, it affected the DPM negatively. I was also trying to be very persitant with using Octopus off cooldown, however I am not sure if it is worth setting up the Octopus unless Scarlion is on Weapon Cancel, and can set up an Octopus or two during the downtime. Other than that, not much else to say about the Run 1's Numbers.

    Scarlion Boss: Run 2
For Run Number 2, It was a bit worrying, as my bishop I brought in to HS myself for a small amount of exp disconnected At the beginning of the 2nd Scarlion Body, as well as my other clients freezing for a long duration. Special Shoutout to Jack, as he was able to HS me due to my bishops disconnect! I was a bit on edge, as I did not want to disconnect and have the run be a waste. Other than that, The run was definitely much smoother overall in terms of actually fighting the boss. I was a bit nervous I defeated many Scaredy Scarlions during the run, but with the amount that Scarlion summons in, It is not a big deal to defeat some of them. I was unable to get an action shot of run number 2, so I decided to draw a quick sketch in Paint to show how the run "probably" went down.

    upload_2023-10-28_5-50-10.png

As I stated earlier, I think this run went a lot smoother than the first run, as I felt alot more comfortable with the boss fight itself, and also with the knowledge that Scarlion is unable to defeat me in 1 swipe, or with touching the body. I also did not octopus as much during this run, with only being on the first body and whenever on cancel (besides Scarlion third body, as I am still unsure if they will defeat the Scaredy Scarlions. After not as many cancels and with being much more comfortable with the encounter, I defeated Scarlion with 22 minutes remaining on the timer.

    The Sweet, Sweet DPM:Run 2
    upload_2023-10-28_5-56-34.png

    upload_2023-10-28_5-57-18.png

I did another @DPM 30 for this run, and this run definitely felt a lot cleaner, as there was not as many weapons cancels compared to the first run, as well as not as worried about my health bar / corsair positioning. I also forgot to note earlier, Having the Scaredy Scarlions stay on top of Qubsane felt amazing, as not worrying about the Battleship breaking is such a relief during a boss. The improvements I think that can be made in the future is to position my character that provides Speed Infusion to be a little closer to the attacking characters. I would usually move over to Speed Infusion myself during Weapon cancels, however there were some instances where I would run out due to me not paying attention, or Scarlion simply not using Weapon Cancel.

    The Loot
It was great to see that during both of my runs, a Mysterious Pouch 2 dropped. As I didn't care about making a profit during this fight, It was awesome to see a pleasant surprise after both Run's. Run 1
had a Total of 2 Helmets, while Run number 2 only had 1 Helmet. On the Bright side, my Based looters ended up with solid helmets, with one of them going to +10. Based

    upload_2023-10-28_6-5-16.png

    upload_2023-10-28_6-5-33.png
    Conclusion

As Scarlion will probably not be on the radar of Qubsane in the future of content I would consistently run, It was a neat experience. It was a unique experience with having a ranged character not worrying about the Scaredey Scarlions, as majority (if not all) of all of the other ranged characters to Fold to the summons throughout the fight. I would also like to shoutout YOU! Thank you for reading through this entry, and as well as all of the kind messages I have received so far with creating this Journal!

EDIT: I did not realize I posted the same DPM twice, was really late when I wrote this Entry. Thank you for the messages on it, just fixed it!

    Qubsane's Journal Entry #3: Horntail

Back at it with updating the Journal, and what a scary Entry this will be to write out. I already know going in that Horntail is kinda the "wake up call" for anyone that plans on doing Bossing. From what I have been told, Horntail is the first true Corsair experience that really pushes the class to its limits. This specific Horntail Run is also my very time I have hosted a Horntail, so I had a lot of pressure going into this Run. Special Shoutout to the Dream Alliance for making this a very memorable run for me, As well as GurkGurk for the Info dump right before my run with Horntail Specific Tips, as well as General Corsair Advice!

Since the last entry, I have gained a bit of levels, as well as slowly losing some Base int. The Stat page above is the range shown with both Cider / Echo and Mw20. I don't recall upgrading any gear, so its just all base stat modifications, as well as alot of levels since the last entry.

    Horntail Boss: Run 1

Qubsane's First Horntail Run.. Was insanely overwhelming to say the least. This was my first Horntail I ever ran on a ranged character, and being at the current HP pool that I have, I do not have much room to mess around. At my Current Health Pool, I am unable to tank Horntail Stomps. Thankfully, we had a DK in our squad and came to the realization that It would help give me a bit of wiggle room in regards of taking hits. I went into this run with the expectation that my Battleship will break every few minutes, as we started with the Left Head for Bishop safety. This means that Right Head would easily take out Battleship's HP throughout the fight. I now understand the ACTUAL Jump quest inside the cave, as I would take every hit Horntail dishes out, and get knocked to the bottom, As all I used to do is explain how Stance being 90% is false news. Once we got to Right Head, I felt a lot more comfortable than the left side. The right side felt a bit more chill than left, as I wasn't battling the two ropes inside the boss room as much/often. Our First run ended with 45 Minutes Remaining on the Timer. I don't have action shots of either run unfortunately, as I was a bit overwhelmed as well being focused on leading the run with callouts and giving pointers to a few first timer runners in the group. Here is a Screenshot of Pre-Summon Shenanigans from Run Number 2.

This DPM... Was a rude wake up call to say the least. This was an @DPM45 with Echo / SE / MW20 / Ciders. I felt like my
performance was horrendous, and I think the number probably shows it so as well. I instinctively used Octo a lot on Left Head, even though it will just sit there and stare back at me. I tried my best to also use Gavoita off cool down, and of course I was battling the Jump Quest during all of this. I tried my best to also play it safe because I was a little spooked throughout the run with having a lower HP pool than I am comfortable with, as I always entered HT with 20k+ HP not having a care on what hits me. I also Was very inconsistent with Eggs, as I would sometimes forget to Egg new Targets, and Forget which Targets have the Egg completely. On the Brightside, I can only go up from here

    Horntail Boss: Run #2
With Run Number #2, I was still feeling a bit defeated with my performance in Run #1 in terms of Qubsane's specific performance. Our Run #1 was too smooth, and as many Horntail runners know Spicy Runs always occur from time to time. We had an additional 2 friends join into the run during the intermission, and unfortunately we also had our Dark Knight DC right as we spawned in the main body. Thankfully, one of the additions was also a Dark Knight, so Me and a few other folks didn't need to stress without having Hyper Body throughout the run. I decided to do the "Leap of Faith" that I always watch Night Lords attempt, as well as Corsairs. This Jump is Crossing from The Top most platforms and to jump across Horntail's Heads to reach the other sides Platforms... We had a good laugh is the best way to describe it.

We ended up Finishing Run Number 2 with 55 Minutes Remaining on the Timer.

Even though I felt like I improved in between runs, it was practically the same DPM. In my defense, I did die for a good 2 Minutes while we organized the parties, But it is still a number that motivates me to try to do better. I tried not to do Octopi as much this run, as I was trying to focus on staying alive rather than worry about minor dpm increases. I also made sure that I was
proactive with my egg usage, and constantly re-applying it when necessary. Overall I felt like this run in the end made me a bit more comfortable with Corsair, and also for the first time in a bossing environment to truly show me how Fragile the Battleship really is, as other Entries within this Journal, and other Bosses in General do not tend to take out the Battleship's HP swiftly.

In terms of Loot, There isn't too much to mention. Each Run we got 2 Pouches, and in the end we got an Average amount of coins between the two. I was unable to screenshot Run 2, but it was just a few more equips that were sold to the NPC folks in Leafre. upload_2023-12-11_0-58-45.png

    Conclusion
Horntail was quite the awakening, as It will probably set the foundation of what this Journal's purpose will become, as A Corsair's First Horntail can be viewed as the first time the fundamentals of the class is truly being tested, as majority of the other bosses before Horntail have a lot less going. I'm excited for Qubsane's numbers to increase overtime (hopefully!) and also terrified to also see my sanity slowly descend as the Battleship keeps Sinking in bosses like Horntail! As Always, Special Shoutout to YOU for reading this far with my Journal Entries, and I hope to provide more Updates soon on different encounters that Qubsane will have on her Journey!

Qubsane's Journal Entry # 4: An Update & Crimsonwood Keep Revisited

    An Update on Qubsane:

Eyoo! It sure has been awhile since I have revisited this journal! I have been meaning to get back to it, but I have not been running much meaningful content on Qubsane since the last entry. It hurts to see that some of the images within the Journal broke, as I dont have too many of them saved still to re-edit the posts, however it is what it is. I have been mainly focused on the New Leaf Ironman Challenge (check it out!) besides the small amount of content Qubsane would be running. Back on topic, I am happy to say that Qubsane is finally done being gated by having an INT stat higher than 5, and now slowly in the process of gaining HP to tackle content with ease thanks to HP Washing. Of Course, for Corsair its a double edged sword to have high HP, as from what I've been told 1/1s Hurt your Boat HP a lot more, as your Boat will take heavier hits, but that will be a Challenge to overcome once i get back to running Horntail, and maybe eventually Pink Bean if I were to get that far. Below I will put a spoiler on what Qubsane's current Stat page is as an update to where I am at now; and with that, on to the next Jounral Entry, where I revisit Crimsonwood Keep, one of the main pieces of content that made me want to create a Corsair!

Since the last entry, as stated before I am no longer an Intelligent Corsair, but a Dexterous One! The Stats here are with MW 20, Cider and Echo.

Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest: Run 1

Revisiting Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest on Mage pin felt like a breath of fresh air. Since the last entry, I have tried out Pirate pin on a different character several times, but haven't taken the fight to Margana in a long time. As per tradition, I was able to get an action shot of the Run.

I was able to keep my Octopi and Gaviota uptime to a great degree, as now I usually active them on muscle memory whenever I get the chance to do so. Other than that, the run itself was not as Eventful, besides being able to keep up to pace with the damage of the Pirate Pin, with just Qubsane Damage alone. I was able to down Margana at around 30 Minutes into the fight.

I was very excited ans estatic to see this when my DPM came up, as I felt like throghout the fight I would sometimes miss an Octopi Cast here or there, or when I didnt realize I forgot to re-use a Cider for 2 minutes. I also thought my Dispells from my Bishop were not on point, however I would try to summon out the Octopi whether I would go Dispell Margana's buff, or if I had to reposition my Bishop in order to do so. Overall I was very satisfied with the performance, and then considered the option of pushing it further...

Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest: Run 2

I Decided for the second Run to amp up Qubsane's damage just a little bit, as for Run 2 I decided to give Qubsane my main Gloves and Cape that I have used on my Paladin for a really long time. I sometimes would swap over my Paladins Gear, but at the time I would have some INT within my Corsairs stats, so I felt like the boost was small or not as noitceable. As per usual, here is an action shot during Run 2.
    upload_2024-4-1_5-3-1.png

During this run I felt much more determined than ever to push for a higher DPM than my run1. I made sure to be ontop of my cooldowns and made sure I was focused in. During this run, a noteable event that happened was that I actually died on my Bishop because I accidentally healed myself, causing DPM to slow down a tiny bit to get Resurected by our backup Bishop. I was still attacking while my Bishop was getting Ressurectd, however not as focused of course. This time, I was able to down Margana At the 25 minute Mark rather than the 30 minutes I took in run 1.

    upload_2024-4-1_5-5-41.png

To say I was in shock was an understatemnt, as I thought the DPM was in shambles due to needed to be Res'ed by our 2nd Bishop. This DPM made me so excited to see such a high number, as this was easily one of the highest DPMs I have achieved on ML as a whole, as my Paladin's DPM is situationally this high due to elemental reasons. And it also hit me how far Qubsane has come since getting really rough numbers, espeically with almost Tripling my Corsairs original DPM within the first Entry of this Journal.

    Conclusion

Where to begin.. This Crimson Wood Keep Party Quest was a blast. It was the first time I ever got to see Qubsane's Potential truely shine and really show the power of the Corsair class with all that I have learned and have been taught to get to this point. The run 2 also shows a Grim reality that it will probably hold my Paladin's gear for the forseable future, as it is much more efficetly used for Qubsane rather than my paladin. I am super excited to see where Qubsane goes on their journey, as the Maple World is their Oyster. As Always, Thank you So much for reading up to this far! Shoutout to you for reading this journal, as well as a special Shotuout to everyone who messaged me along the way talking to me about Qubsane's journal and where were the updates, it truely means alot to me. You are All Legends!

Regarding the Bishop placement I prefer keeping mine on the edge of statue as shown in picture. You sacrifice a few 100k dpm. But make your Pirate pinners cwk experience much more enjoyable.
Magepinner tends to clear before archer anyways.

If standing on the edge of statue you get booped but dont fall off >>> by mage poision cloud. And booped <<< by sharks (also puts your bishop out of pirate aggro range). And you reposition back to statue every time you have to dispel.

And if you ever notice the BM lose aggro to your attacker you do a quick drop down to reset it for him, FJ/recoil to portal and back up since the pirate wont aggro/keep aggro on things below plat. (Mage can keep aggro on you and things below plat so it wont scuff your pin going down n up)

    :pinkbean::pinkbean::pinkbean::pinkbean: Qubsane's Journal Entry #5 - Pink Bean! :pinkbean::pinkbean::pinkbean::pinkbean:

Eyoo, Once again.. It has been awhile.

I Wanted to revisit the journal once again since its been awhile, and alas I decided to give Pink Bean a go on my Corsair as I wanted my next Journal Entry to be a "spicy" Entry, as I can only submit entries that aren't as intense such as CWK and Scar so much. I wanted to either Revisit Horntail, Aufheben or Pink Bean as the next entry.. And I decided to go with probably the hardest Content ML Has to offer: Corsair in Pink Bean. I scrambled the night before as soon as I finished my regularly scheduled Aufheben Runs to finish the Pink Bean pre-quest, and perhaps it was Fate that the bosses I need (Lilynouch and Lyka) were around without having to wait around. I went into this fight with the mindset of Pink Bean being a Corsair's toughest battle ML has to offer, and for sure it lived up to it. Even went to Consult with my Corsair mentors GurkGurk and FreefireFreefire to seek out as much advice as possible, and I am super thankful for all of it! Since the last entry, I have made a good amount of upgrades that I will cover swiftly.

New Overall! I swapped from a 29 Str Duke to this fairly recently, Special Shoutout to JaewonnieJaewonnie on the upgrade!

This glove that drained my sanity for a good few months, Special Shoutout to the Duds Guild for being the Catalyst to this gloves journey.

    upload_2024-8-31_20-43-36.png
I forgot if I had these during my last Journal Entry, but I ended up making these for Horntail specifically and it also is my Shoes of choice for Pink Bean as well. Special Shoutout to PikaqiuPikaqiu For Selling These lucky pair of VSS a couple months back!

For those Unaware, Pink Bean Itself is a very unique fight that can be challenged Once per week. The fight is split up into Phases. The first phase is known as "Statues" and the Second phase is fighting Pink Bean itself, or "Body" phase. The fight is commonly ran as either a 30man or a 18man
(10man soon?!) and the run that Qubsane was on is a 30man. I will separate each phase in its own Section, as each phase of the fight are quite different from each other.

The "Statues" phase it even split among different Stages, as each Stage adds one Boss in additional to the ones you have defeated. Each Stage features the following, and will try to refer to them for the future with their acronym:

Stage 1: Solomon the Wise ( Left Man/ LM)
Stage 2: Rex the Wise (Right Man / RM)
Stage 3: Hugin (Left Bird / LB)
Stage 4: Munin (Right bird (RB)
Stage 5: Ariel (dont think Ariel has an acronym)

Each Statue has its own difficulties that Corsair specifically faces, with maybe the exception of Ariel. There's a few attacks during the Statue phase that a Corsair specifically needs to look out for, as both LM and RM have AoE attacks that will damage the Boat immensely. I will try to cover anything notable I did / noticed during Each Stage, as Early it starts out tame with not as many Statues alive, and eventually gets more hectic as the Stages progress.

    Stage 1 & 2
For the first 2 Stages, I wanted to combine it as there wasn't too much going on for both LM and RM when its just those 2 Statues. I tried to always use Octopi off cool down but I missed a few of them as I sometimes forget where I am or If I am hit with Status, as its Hard to see where I was during Stage 1. For Stage 2, I mainly just struggled with Climbing that dam Chain up to the above platforms of RM. First its that Infamous Horntail Rope everyone struggles with, but these Chains at Pink Bean are worse! RM can also Dispell the party, which meant I had to try to reposition whenever the DP Callout was made over in Voice Chat. With good Visibility on RM I was able to consistently keep Octopi uptime up, As I wasn't as overwhelmed. Here is the screenshot comparison of Stage 1's Top platform compared to Stage 2's Top platform along with our Octopi Army.

I only knew my positioning cause of Vengeance <3 GangGang

    Stage 3
Stage 3 is where the fight starts to get more dangerous, as the LB is capable of doing both Damage Refection for either Physical or Magical Damage. This is at the point of the run where majority of the runners are requested to Apple up, as this is where the fight becomes most dangerous. Of Course, this is where I Would have my first death. After looking back at it, I ended up dying to said Damage Reflect as I used Rapid Fire as soon as my Boat Expired... which of course Hugin punished me for using such skill at the wrong time. Other than that, both LM and RM were not as eventful. I wonder if It would be best to Climb the Ropes however while LB has DR active to hit them, as it takes awhile to climb and by the time you get set up on the top Platforms, LB's Damage Reflect will be close to over. Some more Pictures:

    Stage 4
This stage Introduced Munin (RB) to the mix. This is the most crucial Part of the run for a 30man squad, as our goal is to Burst it down since it can Seduce everybody around the map, easily defeating us. RB can also Banish you out of the map temporarily and you would have to take a walk of shame to rejoin the boss map. RB for majority of the runners (besides Bishops and Buccs!) Is a very smooth stage, as RB doesn't have anything to hinder your damage or debuff you like the other statues do, its just "BIG NUMBERS GO!" At this point I was feeling more comfortable on the statues and I was able to defeat the other statues without issues. Here is a SS of all of his annihilating Munin as soon as it spawned in.

    upload_2024-9-1_4-55-51.png
    Shoutout to @@@@@@@@@@@@

    Stage 5
The Home Stretch! The last one to join the fight is Ariel, along with all of the other statues for one last shot at wiping us before we take care of Pink Bean itself. Ariel itself adds in alot of Stuns that for take 10 years to end, as well as Dispells the party from time to time once its HP its 90%. The Main objective is still to focus down RB as soon as possible, as it is still the deadliest Statue for our squad to deal with. After Munin is dealt with, we take care of RM as the debuffs from it are frustrating to deal with, and then we finally start taking care of Ariel. Ariel itself I dont think was as eventful, as I didn't find it as difficult to stay on the top platforms besides due to the occasional stun.. and the Fighting those chains to climb back up. Between Ariels Weapon Cancels, we were able to deal with LB quickly and both Ariel and RM were defeated at the exact same time. Another Screenshot, Go!

Pink Bean Cooling off While we Vandalize all of the Statues.

    upload_2024-9-1_5-15-2.png

Well, the number isn't pretty that's for sure.. Could of have been better? Hell yeah. Could of have been worse? Of course, I've heard of some getting around 3-4mil Statue DPM. I want to say I played it very carefully, and probably way too carefully (spoiler, me playing carefully will also make that Body DPM... a bit of a yikes!) as the 1 Death I had in Stage 3 kinda set me into a "Play it Safe" Kind of mindset. After looking back, I tended to cancel a lot of my attacks during Statues and especially whenever I was on that LB, I played it WAY too safe. I want to say I was doing fine on my Octopii management, and at this point I press my Gaviota key as a reflex, so I know for sure that I was using it throughout the fight. I also felt like I was just repositioning WAY too often during Statues, as I was always unsure if "Would if be better if I was at X position over Y?" and Also even with having Hyper Body, my HP was at 28.9k however I played around as if I can't tank a touch hit from anything in the room.

Compared to the Statues, Pink Bean itself does not have much to talk about in terms of depth. It is sort of a straight forward endurance fight, as it will start to use Damage Reflect at around the 90% Threshhold, as well as Dodging the Music Notes by ducking below certain platforms on the map that Seduce you if you get hit by them. In terms of Dodging the Notes, I want to say I was hit by a handful? Between the Holy Shields and Smokes that we had in our party it was not too bad. A NOTABLE thing to deal with
(im sorry) Is that I would need to dismount off the boat in order to dodge the notes, as you are unable to duck while on the Battleship. Another Specific Corsair trick that I was told about is called Boatzerking: which is exactly what you can think it is. The idea is you want to stay as low HP as possible, as Pink Beans main attack is a 1/1 while it is Facing the >>> Direction. This would help preserve the Battleship uptime, as if you are getting 1/1ed with 2k HP, your boat will survive for much longer. The downside to this is if you are unable to see Pink Bean (Which is a difficult task in a 30man) it can be very dangerous to impossible to Boatzerk. If Pink Bean Faces the <<< Direction, it can cast an Attack that hits for around 16-17k Damage, so it would instant kill you if Pink Bean decides to face the other direction. I was certain not Boatzerking, as I am already playing this fight very :cautious:ly to begin with.. Maybe someday it will be a strategy I will visit. Other than that.. Pink Bean body is not as eventful as the Statues phase. As its just a cycle of, Whaling at it until DR, Dodge those Notes and repeat the process. Here are a few Screenshots from Body phase:

Where The Pink Bean at?! Up close & Personal

    upload_2024-9-1_5-46-5.png

Eh.. I actually expected to do a lot worse than what I ended up with. Is it Good? Not really, It can definitely be improved on but I want to say its a good starting point. Just like I mentioned during the Statue phase, I played insanely cautious, to the point where I was just making silly errors. I spent a lot of my time during Pink Bean's body just making minor adjustments to my positioning when it wasn't necessary, and I'm not firing out of the Battleship while doing so. The Uptime for Battleship in general does take a heavy hit during Body, which strongly suggests the Boatzerk approach is by far superior but rather insanely dangerous to pull off, as you will die if you are unable to see Pink Beans Position. Pink Beans Visibility plays a huge role for a Corsair in general, and as some of the Screenshots eluded to, sometimes we just Can't see Pink Bean. I also wanted to say at around half way into the fight I slowly stopped putting down Octopii, as I was just trying to focus in making sure I was facing the right direction, as silly as that sounds.

    Conclusion
What a Journey that Qubsane has been on, starting from Being an additional Character I attack with during Scarlion runs, to being my highest raw DPM character I have, to defeating the hardest content that MapleLegends has to Offer: A Pink Bean Corsair run. I do rather enjoy difficult content, As one of my favorite pieces of bossing content on MapleLegends is Aufheben or Bishoping during a Horntail Run. It has been a blast and it PROBABLY is still not over for Qubsane, as now we can only go up from where we are at in terms of Levels, Gear, and of course the Sweet DPM.

I want to give Special Shoutouts to GurkGurk , MilkydoorMilkydoor , FreefireFreefire and anyone else that ever said "How's your Corsair Journal coming along?" as they have been my biggest inspirations to try to keep this journal updated. I Still do play my Corsair a good amount, It just lives in Niche content such as CWK and Core Blaze. Maybe the next extra can be a rapid fire Core Blaze Entry, We shall see. And of Course, Thank YOU for reading all the way this far into the Journal, as it means a lot to me that people want to read up on a class that is not as popular or Flashy as some of the other classes on this Mushroom Game. You are All Legends!
