Ainz Progresses a Poor Ranged Attacker

Short update today, didn't have much time to play.


Wham bam thank you ma'am! Had an absolute blast seeing everyone running around Ellin, trying to get the quest done asap for their Ephenia kills.

I'm definitely going to complete the prequests on a second char a.s.a.p. so I can start soloing instead of duoing. More loot and much faster progression for my ring.

The current math I'm looking at (for duoing 2 runs a day):
- 3 slots, each with 15% is going to require ~3x7=21 'scrolls'
- Each scroll takes 5 soul fragments
- 105 soul fragments required
- From my limited sample size, Ephenia drops 2 fragments per run. (Idk if this varies, I'll take it as an average for now)
- If I keep duoing, that's 1 shard per run -> 2 shards per day.
- 105/2 = 52 days for my ring.

This doesn't sound ideal. I need to start soloing!

A new goal! (Not a new character though, haha, phew, amiright guys)

Hello everyone!

I haven't had much time to play, but I've thoroughly enjoyed farming my daily Chao/Ephenia. It'll be a while before I finish my ring, but it's been very enjoyable so far.

While I am motivated to continue leveling my Shad (and only need like another 750m exp for lvl 163), I wanted to slightly switch goals for a moment.
I've always wanted the shad to have 4/25 base, but I'm very far off for now.


These are my current unbuffed stats. I don't like being reliant on event rings or mw20, so that restricts the math a little. (Thankfully, it also makes the math much easier)
Below is a list of my gear:

Helm: 16str, 32 dex, 16 int, 15 luk Scar (63 total stat)
Face: 8 dex 10 avoid Branch Nose
Eyes: 6 str 5 dex specs
Ears: 12 dex Single Earring
Cape: 6 att 2 slot PAC
Top: 2 dex 21 luk Red Pirate Top
Bot: 16 dex 4 luk Ped Pirate Pants
Shoes: 11 dex 3 luk Brown Osfa Boots
Pendant: 22 str 23 dex 23 luk HTP
Glove: 14 att BWG
Dagger: 125 att 15 luk GDK
Shield: 7 str 1 luk 31 att Dragon Khanjar
Ring1: T10 Monsterbook Ring (10 allstat)
Ring2: Ephenia's Ring (2 allstat)

Now we'll have to do a little bit of dumb addition.
My total gear gives me 63 str, but 7 of that is from the Khanjar that requires the str, so we can't count it.
This means we need to get 71 (75-4) str from gear without including the Dragon Khanjar.
Currently, we get 16+6+22+10+2 = 56. This means we need to get another 15 str from gear.

Dex-wise, our top, bot, and shoes require dex (120 for top/bot, 130 for shoes). So we need to get up to 120 dex without including those. Given 25 base dex, that means we need to gain 95 dex without top/bot/shoes.
Currently we get 32+8+5+12+23+10+2 = 92. Somehow we need to get another 3 dex from gear.

Well thanks for reading this is never gonna happen haha goodbye I'll try to find another goal for the next journal entry!

 

Revised above post because I forgot how to do math apparently! Thanks Soblet for pointing that out.

While I do still need 15 str from gear, I only need another 3 dex.
This means that I could probably get pretty close to 4/25 if I either A) scrolled a str top and tried to get decent str Timeless Earrings, or B) wait for my Auf Helm and Timeless Pendant.
While I'm not very renowned for sticking to a char, I do think I'll be waiting for the latter and just spend my time getting as much 7F done as I can

Hopefully the next entries will include a bunch of level ups


These are the updated stats for now, I was able to take out a couple points of str/dex! It's small gains but it feels good to get closer to 4/25.

 

Mmm yeah I've considered going down a similar path, but I just feel like this would be wasted meso if I tend to eventually get timeless pendant and auf helm regardless. (And we all know how easy it is to get a good auf helm, right Gurk?)

I haven't actually been keeping up with my Ephie/Chao farming, but I have been doing some other stuff!

We've already hit 161 and are swiftly closing in on 162. I might be able to get it done this sunday (which would be exactly one week after last levelup) which feels like pretty good pace to me.
Unfortunately there is no screenshot of my levelup because I'm a filthy leecher (Moomoo daycare seemed like the right approach when all I really want at this point is for my shad to hit 175)


This is the current progress of the Shad. Off the top of my head, this means I need like another 80-90m exp before 162.


And this is how much exp I need for the first relevant upcoming milestone! 163 should open some doors for new content. I have absolutely no idea how viable Shads are at Berga/Dunas/Nib, but I'm excited to give them a shot. Even if it is just for a change of scenery.

Now that we're on the topic of changes of scenery, I ran some 'new' content today! My first CWK in what has to have been at least a year. And a 4man, no less!

Unfortunately I was swiftly confronted with the fact that Shadowers (or, perhaps, my shadower?) really don't do well at dishing out the numbers as cleave. This has lead me to one of two conclusions.
Option 1: Shads honestly kinda suck at cleaving.
Option 2: I honestly kinda suck at shad.

Take your pick, I'll try to stay somewhere between both points.

Seeing these numbers did make me curious. Was my low DPM caused by horribly inadequate button-holding or was it something else? So I gave the wonderful dpm-dummies in Shaolin a visit.

(mw20, cider, spamming bstep+BoT macro on trio dummies)

While the 9.5m trio cleave dpm was a fair bit better than what I was doing in CWK, it still seems pretty underwhelming. I worry whether my lvl 146 hero might pull higher numbers.

Anyways, I did thoroughly enjoy running CWK and I hope I can participate in more runs in the near future. It's pretty good exp (~20% for 2 runs) and the meso can be pretty good as well.

Hehe ok so a lot changed and I honestly don't even remember what I was working on before this so LETS HEAD INTO A NEW DIRECTION!

A delivery? For ME?


I know what it looks like and no this is not RWT, I am borrowing this claw until I've farmed enough meso to pay Ferluci off (so he'll finally stop telling people I scammed him)

Additionally, I've made some upgrades to the NL.
- Gained 2 tiers of Monsterbook, putting us close to T4
- Got Ephie ring
- Bought the coolest HTP Solo Service ever
- Washed out base dex from 60 -> 35


Cool! (SE, Cider, MW20, Echo)

NL really didn't feel like my vibe because realistically I'm just not going to be able to grind it efficiently anywhere (for a while). 5-6 with SE/MW20/Cider got me like 15m eph and I'm definitely too lazy to grind like that.

ANYWAYS, NL definitely has its merit as what the cool new kids would refer to as a 'bossing mule'. I only log in to run content on my NL or to use it as a MU mule at ulu2 (where I'll be farming my way out of debt)

Other characters:
My new leech army is all stuck around lvl 50 but I'm not continuing that until I'm debt-free.

Future plans:
I intend to keep using my NL as a MU/boss mule. Definitely want to give CWK a shot soon since I should be able to hold mage pin. Aside from that, it'll just be ulu2 + card farming on the NL.
