am i old or just burned out on maple?

on my corsair at early 16x i was getting close to 30% every day only doing some boss
(pap, rav, ephenia, chao, jc, krex and rav)
on 163 have more boss to do on NT...

fire arrow is a good skill, but need to use it on a mobs that are weak to fire

 

Don't burn out!

If you're not having a good time, take a break. That's totally healthy. Don't try and push yourself through something you're not feeling.

What I have found does help, is having objectives you're aiming for. Ex: 18-man Pink Bean, Solo Zak, 9m Dummy DPM, etc. It helps to put a reason behind what otherwise can feel like monotonous grind. And helps align what other character you need to invest into.

But, most importantly - if you're not having fun, don't try and push through. Just take a little breather.

I wasn't a fan of 2nd job F/P either. Its not until 75-80+ where you get poison mist that I found F/P to become uniquely enjoyable.

 

You just summed up what maple classic is all about. It's a slow burn, but there are ways to speed up the process.
An arch mage is a good start. It does suck until 4th. You'll want an HS mule to pair with it someday and you've got a mage to sell leech or self-leech with.

None of that matters though if you don't have the patience and want to rush to "end game". You'll continue to burn out and lose interest rather quickly. It's fine to take a break and re-evaluate.

 

When playing back in the day, I was content getting like 5-10% a day. It's best when you have a fun guild or buddies to talk with and do stuff with, or just hang out. Don't see it as a chore, but spending time with friends (while getting exp from content).

 

I always tell myself, when the game starts to feel like a chore, its time to take a break or quit

Actually though just take a break, daily bossing still gets alot of exp at those levels

By 170 after u maxed the skills and the character is kinda geared I lose interest it takes way too much time to progress I always get this thought in the back of my mind that I should by doing something else with my time and well I do lol.

 

Probably after level 180 you don't have much incentive to level up since you've unlocked all the bosses.
After you reach level 200, you have less incentive to play with your character.

There will come a time when you need to billions to upgrade 1 attack (and up to 1-2 stats)

Server low rate is about patience and consistency, more than speed.

 

Second jobs without mobbing skills are pretty boring to be fair. I would probably either PQ or leech the low levels if I had an FP. 50+ is maybe a bit better since you'll have more accuracy to do things like DTs.

 

i still find the social part in this game as the best content, meeting new people, growing with them, unlocking new bosses, with people who i enjoy their companionship (i hope they enjoy my companionship too), seems to be what keeps me coming back to this game/server.

of course most days the daily bosses gonna be repetitive, but some (rare) days there will be funny moments, crazy grief/death mistakes, miraculous boss drops and so on.

i love to live for those rare days, as what most of our real daily life would be, repetitive and boring at most times, but the unexpected turns will happen eventually.

hope you find something that sparks your interest once more, try something you’ve never done before, help someone that you probably won’t do it previously, something might happen, or it might not.

till then, you’ll know what’s your calling, eventually.

I personally only keep a vague guiding star as a goal i want to achieve and keep motivated by pushing foward the goalpost

 

I think a second job with invisible shot is worse than having no mob skill

 

i hate grinding
