an idea to enable mage's bossing capabilities

i got this idea from my many many boss runs (pap/rav/eph/zak/krex) because ive seen maybe like 4 maged tops in the 2 years that i am mapling my stories on this server and i find it kinda sad
i am not an experienced player by all means so i hope my idea isn't too stupid

i thought about giving mages a quest once they reach 4th job which would give them the chance to trade their farming capabilities for more single target damage
maybe something along the lines like giving meteor/blizzard a 6sec cooldown and buffing paralyze/chainlightning
this decison would obviously be final and irreversable

would love to hear from more experienced maplers what they think about this
