anniversary event: best way to get maple weapons?

You get maple weapons from retro boxes. Your best ways to get them are PQs and cake boss

I am new as well
Try to get as much as Int as possible for HP wash. As we are not rich, go easy and do not try to Lv up so fast, try to make money with gatcha tickets, try your luck with scrolls and rear a lot about HP washing.
First item I got was the bath robe with 10 sec, then the ZHelm, and then two capes, one with dex the other one with Int.
Of course my damage is not very impressive but I will do anything to have a good amount of HP.

If you're new then you should consider doing HP challenges instead of washing.

Getting enough NX to wash to 30k hp requires daily voting for a couple years - so you can make an hp challenged char now, and then if you're still playing a couple years later, make the washed char.

Washing to HP values below 30k has (imo) been made obsolete by HP challenges, and a lot of guides haven't been updated since HP challenges were added. Depending on how much int you're leveling with (which if its your first char and you don't have much money for int gears and need enough base luk to do enough damage to level without leech, might not be much) you may find that you're going through all the difficulty of leveling with int (low damage + lots of nx to reset int eventually) just to end up with less hp than challenges would give you

 

I thought unfunded, new thief players would go the normal DEX route. That way you have NPC equipment available to you, instead of trying to scroll or trying to save up for LUK robes and/or maple weapons. I suggest making a cleric for starters, to help your sin, or to be your main character until you are funded.

To answer your question though, retro boxes will yield maple weapons. However, I think there's a minimum level to be able to obtain certain levels of maple equipment - for example I think you have to be Lvl 70+ to be able to obtain (at random) Lvl 64 maple equipment (ME). If you're trying to get the Lvl 35 MEs, I think you have to be Lvl 45+ on your character. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...
