Beginner weapon Maroon Mop

The Maroon mop has been brought up various times in suggestions, including here where I think it's explained quite well. Even though this was 2017, I don't expect the stance on the topic to have changed too much.

 

Talking about the Maroon Mop and seeing people mention that it "wasn't in GMS" it actually was, but it came out much much later than v.62 I remember because I've had one and I thought that since it was a Beginner only weapon that it was trash and dropped it.

 

What about Sake Bottle... the real beginner weapon!

This has been discussed before multiple times as mentioned.
I personally feel like it destroys the weapon diversity we have right now.
Some suggestions have been made to add a nerfed version of it as a solution to that problem, I personally wouldn't mind as long as it's not too strong.

I remember discussing the maroon mop recently with a alliance member in suboptimal (permabeginner, odd job, islander alliance). They had an interesting suggestion, though mostly a joke: make it a reward for getting to level 70 as an islander. I think it is ridiculous, but I do like the idea of having a way of obtaining such a cool weapon without it destroying the current beginner meta or messing too much with the servers GMS-like ideal image.
