Theme: Beautiful Drops from Maple Mobs

Notes: We wanted to make our entry a representation of some of the prettiest etc. item drops from various mobs throughout the Maple world. Things that are usually thrown away or immediately NPC'd without a second thought during card farming or grinding. This is our chance to appreciate some of the beautiful items in this game that are otherwise considered to be useless. We thought about which mobs dropped the prettiest etc. items and decided on the Star Pixie's Starpiece, Bubble Fish's Thoughts and the Hearts from the three different Chief Guardians of the Temple of Time (the red, green and blue orbs on the trees). We added in some color-coordinated festive ornaments and placed some gifts under our trees to tie everything together.

notes: covid-19 struck 2020 and most of us had to stay home to keep ourselves and everyone around us safe. due to that, most of us can't even see our friends or family. a lot of people also lost loved ones and friendships started to drift........ but you know what won't disappoint you? food. yes, food will always be by your side. food can comfort you, be there with you during stressful times, always there when you're sad and also always there when you are happy.

as we enter 2021, our wish is to ensure that everyone around the globe (and all of you beautiful players of maplelegends >w<) eat good food and not worry about your calorie intake!! (oh, and also hope that no one goes hungry) that's so 2020.... what's... diet? we don't know her. we also want to spread love and positivity to everyone in hopes that all of us can reach for the stars this year. :~) always remember to live, laugh, love and also eat your meals properly.... and also make sure its good food. it's worth the calories, we swear.

Theme: COVID-19 Lets Beat it Together

[MapleTip] MapleLegends is immune to COVID-19.

Covid has been taking a lot of things away from us in 2020. However, with the help of our hard-working Santa Kimmy and Elf staffs, we could all be greeted with warmth.

MapleLegends has opened up a great opportunity for us to make friends in many different ways during the struggle of Covid, and we believe it led us to have create such unforgettable memories while also helping with the prevention of Covid.

We were pleased to participate in this community event to both cheer and support our lovely MapleLegends GMs who have had this meaningful server created and maintaining it, while also greatly appreciating all the medical contributor’s enormous amount of effort for the prevention of covid-19, and last but not least, for all our kind-hearted MapleLegends players dealing through the tough struggles.

We truly hope everyone to have a happy new year and don’t forget to continue playing the "Covid-Immune" MapleLegends.

Theme: Classic Holidays - Blue & Red Themed
Explanation: Just a pair of besties that reunited on Maple this Christmas. Wanted to do something cute and simple. We wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays! We know it's been a hectic year but we put tons of presents on our tree to represent all the gifts and things to look forward to in 2021. Of course Santa and his 9 reindeers had to make an appearance, dropping in to bring that Christmas spirit. We opted to put a ton of blue and red lights on our tree and on the house because they are our favourite colours. We chose the star ornaments because you guys are all stars! Happy mapling everyone and stay safe

Theme: Anniversary Celebration
Notes: So I know ours isn't completely 'themed', but we wanted to celebrate our 5 year anniversary on the game we met through, Maplestory. This is the game that brought us together, this is what we did for years as a long distance couple, and now find ourselves doing together living together. We just recently came back to MapleLegends and I wanted to decorate a tree together for our anniversary photo! This is what we came up with, may not exactly be as themed as everyone else's, but we hope you guys enjoy it anyway! <3 Happy Mapling from the both of us!

Theme: Nostalgia-Story

2020 has been a difficult year for most of us. Many of us got our ordinary lives taken away and were forced to stay home, away from school, work, and friends.

Maplelegends has been a place for us to forget about the harsh reality outside and go back to our innocent childhood memories. We are now high up in the levels and achieved more than we expected before starting our journey, but we wanted to revisit why we began to love Maplelegends: nostalgia.

We decorated the tree to have some very familiar numbers from KPQ and LPQ, which we remember the most when we think about "maple back-then." KPQ is where we first felt the true joy of playing Maplelegends, and LPQ, despite how much we hate about it, is where we met our long-term maple friends. We also added some items that we see at the very early levels and will never forget.

Adieu 2020, and welcome 2021!

We wish everyone had a great Christmas and a happy new year. Whether COVID-19 will still be relevant in 2021 or not, Maplelegends will continue to be a place we can visit to relax from real-world stresses and hang out with awesome friends.

 

Hi, I just realized that there's already a Mean Girls themed one but I'll submit this anyways!

Theme: Mean Girls Winter Talent Show

Details: People at the bottom are the talent show audience, and are all mules/friends helping out with the photo. The mom (galore) and Regina George (Abysss) are both Em's chars. For my character (thedgafclub), I actually changed my hair and eye colors to match those of Cady Heron, and the same goes for visor4lashes as Karen Smith.
Photo Edits: I edited galore's pose via maples.im so that she could be making the same pose as the mom. By changing each pixel individually, I also edited CoffeeCoffee's character so that her hair color matches Gretchen Wieners' darker colored hair. Lastly, I also added reference photos so that the photo makes more sense hehe. The original (unedited photo) can be seen here:

Dear 2020,

What a year. You thrived on chaos, divisiveness, and fear. You forced isolation, took away loved ones from us, and pushed us to the brink.

You beat us down and nearly broke us.

To be fair, it wasn’t all bad.

You taught us Maplers the importance of kindness, empathy, and patience. Together, we hunted and collected toys in Ludibrium, and feasted on sweets and snacks to heal ourselves in boss runs. Rudolph came around in December, and brought gift boxes galore! Many a Secret Santa gift exchange was conducted, with inventories lined with goodies and treats. This year, we grew closer together than ever, and forged new Maple friendships.

Many of us may have felt the past year was for naught - after all, it’s natural to be hard and critical of ourselves. But it was our MapleLegends family that helped preserve our sense of compassion towards ourselves -- and for that, we’re grateful. Whether it was just chatting and hoeing in the FM or (for our 21+ older crowd) getting happily tipsy on New Years Eve together over a Discord voice call, we came to appreciate our second family and community that never once made us feel alone in one of the hardest years we’ve faced in this lifetime.

So it’s been real 2020, but we’re through. It’s not us; it’s you.

We’re choosing the kind of optimism when you use your last Gachapon ticket (hello White Scroll), and wax nostalgic feeling that card hunting over the vast Maple world brings. The promise of happiness and community.

You know, 2021.

Theme: A Merry Rainbow Christmas

Notes: We chose a rainbow theme for our tree to represent the multitude of beautiful players, places, monsters, and items in MapleLegends! We chose a theme that was colorful and vibrant to pay homage to all the things that we love about this server from a simple, but staple Relaxer Chair to every Zakum summoned and defeated with an Eye of Fire. We specifically picked items that come with memories for us and hopefully, there are a lot of Maplers out there who can relate when they look at our tree! We have loved making so many friends all around the Maple world -- and we mean in the game and out, so we brought items from every continent onto our tree! We know these friendships will last long after COVID-19 but at least for now, MapleLegends continues to be the ray of sunshine that brightens a dark year!

Theme: An out of this world Christmas
Notes: We hope everybody made the best out of their holiday and here's to a great 2021!

 

THEME: How The Goblin Stole Christmas



NOTES:

T'was the morning of Christmas and four children ran out
with many wishes for gifts, for they had been quite good -- no doubt
but under the tree were no presents to see
only a grossness atop an ugly McGee

the tree emitted a hideous smell --
far too foul for the children to bear.
the goblin thought his plan was just swell,
but the children cried out, "that's so not fair!"

"These gifts are mine now" the goblin cackled with glee.
the children protested,
but the goblin corrected:
"they are not for you children but instead all for me"

The children wailed and then wailed some more.
At the sight of the tree and the empty floor.
There was nothing more the sad children could say.
For the goblin had stolen their Christmas day.

For our theme we took inspiration from the Dr. Seuss Christmas classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" but added our own twist to it!
(Since we're part of Goblinology )
We wanted to create a story with our tree . The story that the Goblin had not only stolen all the gifts, but left some stinky surprises on the tree (Poop, squid, cheese etc.) for the children on its way out, proudly leaving its mark "The Goblin Waz Here".
This story ends a bit different than the Grinch classic and the Goblin wins in the end. ​

Theme: LUK-Y christmas
Notes: After being so unlucky with raffle legends, and with how LUK mage gets meme'd so much, we thought we'd decorate a tree with LUK mage and mage potions. We also dressed up as LUK mage, so that we can get better LUK with gacha and raffle.

Remember kids, LUK mage is default mage. Merry LUK-Y XMAS.

Theme: Snacc Attacc
Notes:
Seasoning’s greetings! We were so eggcited for this, and lettuce tell you why. We wanted to do a cozy theme, one with a raisinable balance of festivity and cuteness, and we hope we pho sure pulled it off. For this snacc-themed tree we found berry many adorable snacks around the Maple world. We com-pie-led only the most delicious treats. Suffries it to say it was a lot of traveling, but at yeast it was worth it! Orange you glad we entered? We are--we started to get jelly watching you guys have all the fun! Now to get a little more cheesy…

We relish every day where we all crumb together on this nostalgic mushroom game, and would be oh-so-melon-choly without it. To everyone who is reading this, we just want to say, from one snacc to another: we appeachiate you, you’re the apple of our eye, and you look brewtiful. All yolks aside, we hope everyone stays comfy this holiday season and we wish everyone a merry Maplemas!

Theme: Mesorangers' Day off
Notes: This festive season, using their handy warp cards, all the way from Omega Sector, the MESORANGERS are back in town to celebrate christmas to bring joy to all. As they enter Santa's house... they hear a weeping sound.... there in a corner, they saw a small girl. "What's wrong little girl?" they asked. The girl weeped.. "I've been gaining so much weight the past 2 weeks because all I've been getting is ham and cupcakes. I'm wearing this polar bear outfit to cover my blubber..".

With a sparkle in their eyes, the Mesoranger friends made a vow. Even on their only day off, the Mesorangers are here to save you from Santa helpers, who has a thing for giving out elixirs and ham.
P.S. don't forget to ask them to bring home some pain relievers as you camp out meta maps that deal heavy damage, for dat extra weapon def so your death rankings don't rise this holiday.

Theme: Aliens Celebrate Christmas Too?!

To escape the corona-filled festivities of the Earth, this group of Maplers made a special trip to our extraterrestrial neighbours during the Christmas of 2020. Wary and armed with weapons, they arrived at the home of the Alien Grays... but to their surprise, the Aliens were busy celebrating Christmas as well!

"Hey, we have visitors from Earth! Come join us in decorating the tree!"

Putting aside their obvious differences, the aliens were seen inviting these human Maplers into HappyVille to celebrate the spirit of giving this Christmas Day. While we weren't able to escape Earth in real life, we "escaped reality" by enjoying playing MapleLegends with people from all around the world during this year's Christmas event.

Thanks again to all the GMs who worked hard on this year's xmas events! It was unexpectedly fun (and difficult) to decorate the tree :^)

Theme: A Lucky Christmas
Notes: As 2020 may have been an unlucky year for some of us, maplelegends has given us an extra way to bring some good luck into our lives. Whether it's getting 3 apples in APQ or passing a few 30s in a row, maplelegends was where we'd get our fix.
Here's Bald Gang taking the time to all roll 100 at the same time to bring those who view our tree some good fortune for the coming year!

Theme: The struggle of the common household elf
The toys they slaved away at all year scattering the map and tree.

Notes:
It was a dark and cold day.
The hard snow pelting against my window as I sat on my La-Z-boy™ recliner (Yeah, im sponsored, so what?).

The hot, crackling fireplace warming my cold penis feet while I sipped on my hot chocolate. There I sat, deep in thought...HP washing consuming my mind.
My thoughts shattered as my son jumped into my lap quite hard (He broke my balls) and asked me about Santa and his elves!
I thought to myself, Elves...? I threw him off my lap as I began thinking about Elves.
I wondered at the injustice and fear they faced at the hands the tyrant known as Sandy Claws.
Their living conditions, the food they ate (if any) and the fact that they were all presumably heterosexual men living in confined spaces.
