Update Client Patch Notes: March 20, 2022

This was introduced at or shortly after the Maker Skill was available in version 0.73. You first had to complete the Maker quest attached to this ability.

Step 1 of Quest:
Quest starts with NPC Moren in Magatia.
Talk to NPC Gordon in El Nath: El Nath Market
Answer 3 of Gordon's questions correctly.

Step 2 of Quest:
Collect 50 Jr. Yeti Skins
Return to Gordon
Gordon gives you "Gordon's Magic Iron" - Set-up Item

Only with Gordon's Magic Iron can you use the Maker Skill to produce the scrolls for you with the following ingredients:

Creation of the 10% Cape for Warmness:
100 Jr. Yeti Skins
100 The Book Ghost's Sheet of Paper

Creation of the 10% Shoes for Spikes:
100 Poison Poopa's Poisonous Spikes
100 The Book Ghosts's Sheet of Paper

Very important note - THESE SCROLLS NEVER TOOK UP A SLOT! You could fail until the cows come home and the number of slots would NEVER reduce. Even a successful scrolling would NOT take up a slot. These were special scrolls guaranteed to give you what you wanted upon success if you put in the work - which I very much appreciated!

While this was a major pain to do in GMS, it was doable because 10% scrolls have a very high chance of succeeding at least once in seven attempts. The Jr. Yeti Skins are very easy to procure, while the Poopa Spikes and Paper are not. Yes, the Poison Poopa maps are plentiful of Poopas, but even the smallest map has a lot of ground (water?) to cover; and The Book Ghost's Sheet of Paper is a rarer drop compared to the Old Paper it abundantly drops. A lot of grinding is required - and you'll probably get all 5 cards of all 3 of these mobs before collecting enough materials to cover your needs. This, however, does open a new market for people wanting to make some mesos in the FM.


[EDIT] In GMS, you could make the scroll for yourself using the Maker Skill.
