Low Crash When Selecting Character

Description of the bug: (optional screenshot/video): After selecting a character my computer crashes. Has happened before on this windows machine a few years ago and I gave up. Just retried installing it and still happens. I tried just about every common workaround documented a few years back, none had worked. It happens whether I View Characters and double click one or go through the usual character selection. Game works fine on my mac with crossover. I don't have much hope to get this working with the usual workarounds but thought i'd document the crash log here if it can help. I usually play on my mac anyway.
What is supposed to happen?: Not crash
Where did you find and/or notice this bug?: Trying to select char for the first time after installing ML on this pc.
