    Hello maplers,

With the latest update we've now fully released Monster Book, a feature released in v0.67 GMS for fans of collecting.

You can open your Monster Book by using the (default) "B" hotkey:

In it you can see an overview of all the available cards in the game, and how many of them you have already collected.

    Navigating

On the left side you can see different coloured panels. Clicking on any of them will open a category of monsters. They are categorized based on their level.

You can also click the arrows under the cards to go to next page of same category

Or search for a specific monster using the search function. Do note however its case sensitive!

All the monsters found in the Monster Book will now start drop cards. Each card you collect from a monster will teach you more about that monster, up to 5 cards each monster. Collecting 5 of each monster will complete a set.

A Monster Card looks like this:
Where the monster presented on the card is which Monster Card it is.
    • When you collect one card you can only see how the monster looks.
    • When you collect two cards of the same monster you can see its HP and MP, as well as more animations.
    • When you collect three cards of the same monster you'll learn about the origin of the monster.
    • When you collect four cards of the same monster you can see what the monster drops. This was updated to be 100% accurate with MapleLegends.
    • When you collect five cards of the same monster you have completed a set, you will have a medal at the Monster Book's monster, all the monster's animations, and a list of where the monster is found.
Additionally, you can make a Monster Card your book cover by right clicking the card and selecting 'Set as Cover'.

    Rankings
Released with Monster Books is also a fully functional ranking, which will log the person with the most cards. Happy collecting!

    New quest-line
We have also released a new custom quest-line alongside Monster Book. Please visit any Victoria Island town, and look forward to a quest pop-up in-game. We will not spoil the quests themselves, but we hope you'll enjoy them together with the collecting.

There have been sightings of someone secretly smuggling Party Quest cards and illegally selling them for profits. His exact location is unknown. However, this is what he may look like:

    Which cards are currently available?
We have all the cards added up to v0.72, which means all v0.62's, ToT, as well as Ellin Forest. We have plans to add additional cards, for example from non-GMS regions, but we thought it was better to not release them all at once.

We hope you'll enjoy the feature! If you've got any questions you are free to ask us.

Credits to SlimeSlime for making edits to the Monster Book's ingame UI.
Credits to YozichYozich for the ranking icon.
Credits to LilyLily for helping out porting the Monster Book mod to our '.img' client.
Credits to PoofcakesPoofcakes for coding all of Monster Books, as well as the quests and NPC's.
And last but not least thanks to all of MapleLegends Staff for all ideas and thoughts throughout the making of the Monster Book patch.
