Welcome to the general Patch notes for the Anniversary 2024 patch!

Being an Event release, this patch will not have balance updates nor new content releases.
Instead, it will focus on the Event, client updates, and various bug fixes.

    General Changes
    • The 9th Anniversary Event has been released! You can read all the details in our Event thread.

    Client Changes [v1.25]
    • The client is now able to link identical monster sprites together.
      • This feature allows us to reduce the overall size of our installation, as monsters with the same sprite no longer need a duplicated image.
      • To give an idea, the monsters data folder alone is now 32% smaller than before.
      • The feature will be extended to include the rest of the game folders, and to fix any potential issues found.
Note: This is a big achievement to get working inside the v0.62 game client. If you notice any monster visuals that are off starting this patch let us know by creating a bug report thread.
    • All Cash items can now be worn by any gender.
      • While we had this functionality (via ID changing) already in place for Event cosmetics, it's now been made into an actual feature, for all the items found in Events and in the Cash Shop.
      • Currently, gendered Cash Shop items can still only be purchased by the same gender of the item. This will be corrected in another patch.
    • The unintended Corkscrew Blow animation change has been reverted.

    • [Retro World] Long Jump skill now uses a small custom animation both in first and third person, and no longer "borrows" Flash Jump animation.
    • [Retro World] Skills and attacks that are not Axe Throw nor Long Jump can no longer be activated in the minigame maps.
    Changes and Bugfixes

    General:
    • Cosmetics from the Event prize pools will now last 12 months, instead of 11.
    Items:
    • Retro Healing relic found in the Retro Dungeon now has a custom sprite, in theme with the rest of the area.
    • "Cookie" now heals for 100% Max HP and Max MP, down from 30.000%.
      • This makes Cookie healing affected by healing reduction effects, such as Zombify.
    • "Crimson Guardian Card" : fixed a typo in the item name and description.
    • Bronze, Silver and Gold Aufheben Chairs are no longer considered Cash items.
    Skills:
    • Long Jump skill now has a custom animation.
    Maps:
    • "Singapore: The Engine Room" (Capt. Latanica) and "Zipangu: The Nightmarish Last Days" (The Boss) now correctly notify the map when a Mysterious Coin Pouch is opened.
    Quests:
    • "Yulete's Reward" : having exactly 5 Zenumist Marbles will no longer cause the script to "accept" an insufficient amount of Alcadno Marbles.
    • "[Ellin Forest] The Ominous Aura" : fixed a dialogue typo.
    Transparency and information

During the creation of this patch, it has come to our attention that there are inaccuracies with our Chaos Scroll calculations. Unfortunately, official odds of Chaos Scrolls from the official servers were never leaked or released, so generally unofficial servers create their own "emulation" of it. Ours was created as early as the beginning of the server and has never been modified since. Recently, we have noticed that in our Chaos Scroll code it's virtually impossible to roll -5 on any stat at all, ever, while all the other outcomes are equal, except 0, which has a double chance.

We had an internal discussion together if this should be changed or not, and after a lengthy discussion we have decided not to. The odds and calculations have been like this since day one, and fixing or altering this will affect future items and the rarity of stats permanently which we believe is not a good move to make for a server this old. However, we still wanted to be transparent about this and let you know about this.
