    Welcome to the Patch notes for the extra Anniversary patch!

    This time, everything will be included in this very thread, as the main focus is balance updates, with little extra notes for server and client changes.


    Balance Changes

    General:
    • LUK scaling in avoidability formulas has been increased (0.3 >> 0.4).
      Warrior avoidability scaling has been reimplemented.
      Code:
      Beginners/Warriors/Magicians/Archers/Thieves/Pirates (first job) = DEX * 0.25 + LUK * 0.4
      Gunslingers = DEX * 0.125 + LUK * 0.4
      Brawlers = STR * 0.2 + DEX * 0.25 (unchanged)
      
    Paladin:
    • [​IMG] Blast : damage has been reduced (max level: 700% >> 650%).

    Thief:
    • [​IMG] Dark Sight : no longer prevents potion usage.
    • [​IMG] Shadow Shifter :
      • The skill can now be activated while stunned.
      • Skill activation now dispels Stun.
      • Fixed a visual bug that prevented Shifter procs (the wooden log and smile) to display in third-person.
      • Skill icon has been updated.
      • (Shadower only) Active effect duration has been increased at all ranks (15s >> 20s).
    Shadower:
    • [​IMG] Meso Guard : mesos cost per Meso Guard block has been reduced (max level: 78% >> 50%).
    • [​IMG] Shield Mastery : now passively grants a passive Stance effect (max level: 75%).
      • The effect requires an equipped Shield.
    • [​IMG] Assassinate :
      • No longer requires the player to be standing a platform, to be cast.
      • The first four hits can now crit, based on the player's critical rate/damage.
        • Dash critical hits are still bound to the skill-own rates.
      • A successful Dash (ie. a Dash that connects and damages a monster) now grants the player 2.5 seconds of immunity.
        • Note that ongoing effects, such as poison or other damage-over-time sources, still affect the player as normal. Only incoming attacks and damage are prevented.
      • Base cast time has been reduced (1820ms >> 1700ms, equivalent to 1290 at weapon speed 2).
      • Dash: damage has been increased (max level: 250% >> 325%, every level is scaled up +75%).
    • Shadower's max Challenge HP has been increased, and the thresholds per tier have been updated.
      Tier 1: 3200 (unchanged)
      Tier 2: 3700 >> 3950
      Tier 3: 4300 >> 4800
      Tier 4: 5000 >> 5750
      Tier 5: 5800 >> 6800
      Tier 6: 6700 >> 7750
      Tier 7: 7700 >> 9200
      Tier 8: 8800 >> 10550
      Tier 9: 10000 >> 12000
      • Speak with Rosa in Lith Harbor to obtain any potential new HP.
      • If you have a Rosa's Charm, choose the "Rosa's Charm" menu from Rosa herself, and she will handle the Charm update with extra HP.
    Night Lord:
    • Throwing Star recharge costs have been reduced.
      Subi Throwing-Stars (15 w.atk) : 0.30 (unchanged)
      Wolbi Throwing-Stars (17 w.atk) : 0.50 (unchanged)
      Snowball (17 w.atk) : 0.50 (unchanged)
      Mokbi Throwing-Stars (19 w.atk) : 1.00 (unchanged)
      Wooden Top (19 w.atk) : 1.00 (unchanged)
      Paper Fighter Plane (20 w.atk) : 3.00 >> 1.50
      Orange (20 w.atk) : 3.00 >> 1.50
      Kumbi Throwing-Stars (21 w.atk) : 5.00 >> 2.50
      Icicle (21 w.atk) : 5.00 >> 2.50
      Maple Throwing-Stars (21 w.atk) : 4.50 >> 2.00
      Tobi Throwing-Stars (23 w.atk) : 10.00 >> 5.00
      Steely Throwing-Knives (25 w.atk) : 20.00 >> 10.00
      Ilbi Throwing-Stars (27 w.atk) : 35.00 >> 17.00
      Hwabi Throwing-Stars (27 w.atk) : 35.00 >> 17.00
      Balanced Fury (30 w.atk) : 70.00 >> 35.00
      Magic Throwing Knife (31 w.atk) : 85.00 >> 43.00
    Buccaneer:
    • [​IMG] Oak Barrel : skill cast now has a 10 seconds cooldown.
    • [​IMG] Barrage :
      • Base cast time has been reduced (2280ms >> 2190ms, 2430 pre-anni), equivalent to 1650ms at weapon speed 2.
      • Damage has been increased (290% >> 300%, every level is scaled up +10%).
    • [​IMG] Energy Orb :
      • Base cast time has been reduced (1110ms >> 1020ms, 1200 pre-anni), equivalent to 780ms at weapon speed 2.
      • Damage has been decreased (1300% >> 1250%, every level is scaled down -50%).
    • [​IMG] Dragon Strike : damage change has been reverted (max level: 900% >> 810%).
    • [​IMG] Demolition : damage has been increased (max level: 580% >> 680%).
    Corsair:
    • [​IMG] Battleship : mana cost has been decreased to 1 MP at all ranks.


    General Changes

    • The Anniversary Event duration has been extended by 1 week.
      • The event content will now end on June 15th, 23:59:59 servertime.
      • Prize claiming will be open until June 22nd, 23:59:59 servertime (7 days after the event end).
    • Server bonus experience rate has been increased by a further 5%, on top of the preexisting Event bonuses.
      • The total bonus experience for active gameplay is thus now 15%!
    • Issues with our revamped experience calculation algorithm have been corrected.
      • Fixed an issue where party members outside of "leeching" level ranges (aka not within either 5 levels of the player, or of the monster) would not contribute their damage to the total party damage.
      • Fixed a bug where a player's experience fraction derived from their party contribution was based on their own damage, rather than the party damage.
      • A player's killing blow to a monster now correctly resets their "active" timer, for experience purposes.
        • This fixes an issue where bonus experience for active gameplay would not be credited, to a last-hitter who was not the highest damage dealer.
    • Various inconsistencies with our quest data files have been corrected.
      • This fixes any issues with Challenge questlines, such as the unavailability of certain Tier 3 class quests, or of the Tier 3 main questline.
      • Additionally, the PQ Teleport quest, obtained by Rosa, is now again available.
        • The quest popup that would show up in any Victoria Island town will no longer inevitably crash the player.
    Client changes

    Version 1.30.2:
    • Support for passive Stance-like effects has been introduced.
    • Support for iframe duration alteration has been introduced.
    • Shadow Shifter has been added to the skills that can be cast during special status effects.
    • Removed Assassinate platform cast requirement.
    • Reworked Assassinate damage formula to enable crit damage/chance on non-dash hits.
    • Dark Sight check has been altered in relation to potion usage.

    As a final note, we understand that much of the player base felt frustrated or confused by the recent wave of changes. While we always aim to make balance changes with the best intentions for server health and longevity in mind, we acknowledge that our ideas may miss the mark.

    Community feedback has been and will continue being a critical driver for our game design choices, and this patch is no exception. The team appreciates the player base’s patience as we continue to develop and work towards better game design in future patches.

    Because when I think ‘high-risk, high-reward melee thief’, I absolutely think ‘please give them Warrior-tier health so they can tank Zakum’s left eyebrow without flinching.’ Brilliant. Inspired. Truly the future of game design.

    You know who doesn’t need an HP buff? The class that literally spends HP to function. The one whose entire kit screams, “I suffer so others may live.” But no, let’s ignore Dark Knights. Again. I’m sure they’re fine. They’ve only been holding their breath for buffs since the Paleolithic Era.

    But let’s not stop there! Maybe next patch Shadowers can get Magic Guard. Or Ranged Avoid. Or a third dodge skill that activates if you blink hard enough. Because clearly, pressing one extra button wasn’t enough pain—now they need more HP to mismanage too.

    It’s amazing. You’ve taken a sleek, risky, position-heavy class and decided: “What if it was just... harder to kill and made less sense?” And then you did it. Unapologetically. With patch notes that probably read like a love letter to the loudest person in Discord.

    Satire? Perhaps. Shitpost? Almost certainly. But at this point, it’s hard to tell the difference.

    According to the original balance patch “Give players a more varied gameplay” but now you’re nerfing barrel cancel? Something that was unique to maplelegends. I fear bucc damage and variety are both decreasing.

    Alright, this looks interesting for shad. We still lose loads of avoid compared to passive shifter, but these changes look interesting. The 75% knock back resistance, does that mean I get knocked back 75% less in distance or I don’t get knocked back at all 75% of the time? Assassinate changes look dope tho! But we will see when it’s live.

    My only initial thought is how will non-pinner buccs dpm in PB body?

    Barrage and demo buffed is good but all others were reduced or is there overlapping buffs from last patch?

    I dont really understand why barrel cd was added but I'm not a bucc. I just see this making things more difficult in PB but not sure what it means really so I'll hold my thoughts
