Welcome to the general Patch notes for the July 2024 content patch!

This patch comes shortly before the Anniversary Event release.
It focuses on content expansion and releases, feature updates, server improvements and preparations for further upcoming content.

This post will contain a comprehensive list of fixes, changes and new implementations for the server side of things. Because this patch includes less client (v1.24) changes, they will be included here.

You can find info about the Balance changes for this patch in this thread.

    General Changes
    • The Tier 3 of the HP Challenges has been released! Speak with Rosa to obtain the new set of quests and tasks.
      • A couple of improvements have also been made for Tier 1:
        • The drop rate of Thunder Catalyst, from both Taurospears and Tauromacis, has been increased.
        • Completing tier 1 of Challenges will now send a Note to the player, explaining that the bonus HP can be redeemed from Rosa at any time from that moment onwards.
    • [IMG] A new item has been introduced: Rosa's Charm!
      • This item will occupy a Cash Ring slot.
      • Its purpose will be to grant the players the full HP/MP bonuses they would obtain from the Challenge tiers that have not yet been released, in order for everyone to experience the full effect of our new system without further delay.
      • The requirements to obtain it will be to have completed all the currently-released Challenge tiers, and to have claimed all the Bonus HP/MP coming from them, with Rosa.
      • In the future, whenever a new Challenge tier is released, existing Charms will be removed, and the new tier will be included in the Charm requirements.
    • The PQ Captain system has been updated, with the introduction of a new command:
      • !captain [optional name]
        • If used with no optional name, the command displays info about the current Captain of the PQ, if applicable.
        • If a player name is provided, the Captain will be passed to the specified player.
          • This second option can only be used by the current Captain, and only if all the conditions for a change are met (valid PQ instance, player is part of the PQ and is alive).
      • Additionally, whenever the PQ Captain changes for any reason, every member of the PQ is informed via chat bubble above the head.
Player displaying the current captain via "!captain"
Player passing the captain title to another player via "!captain Pasta42069"
Or, other player being assigned captain title after the current captain left the PQ
        • [IMG]
Player receiving the captain title from another player who used "!captain Pasta2"
Or, player being assigned captain title after the current captain left the PQ
    • A way to track attack potion usage has been introduced to all our Expeditions.
      • During the squad sign-up stage, the leader of an expedition will be able to toggle on/off the display of a blue chat notice whenever a squad member uses a weapon/magic attack potion.
      • Expedition members will be able to view the current setting, during sign-up phase, and will be notified in chat whenever the leader toggles the option.
      • Even if the buff tracking is active, expedition members (including the leader) will be able to turn off the notification in their own chat via the new toggle command !bufflog. This can be done at any point during the expedition event.
      • The tracking will only happen for potions that give at least 60 weapon/magic attack.
    • A new specialized script has been set for the Alert GM button trigger:
      • Players will no longer be sent to the generic gm tickets interface, after right-clicking a player.
      • Instead, they will be automatically directed to a dialog in which they can type an extra informational message, to send along the now-automated name + reason report.
    • Players who obtain a rare item for the first time (eg. White Scroll) from Gachapon, will no longer be reachable via any interaction (trade, messenger, whisper, buddy/guild/alliance invite) until they have read the Note that prompts them to research market prices, prior to accepting offers.
    • The option to sell items in a Bundle has been removed from Hired Merchants.
      • While the buttons are still present, attempting to sell items in a bundle will prompt an error popup, and no item will be added to the sales list.
    • Custom-made Bronze, Silver and Gold Aufheben Chairs have been introduced.
    • Ellin Forest has been expanded! It will now include higher-level areas, and two new Bosses to fight (and collect Monster Cards from).
    • Our Cash Shop has been polished, and is now ready for us to start updating it with new items more regularly.
      • Items introduced in past events no longer use the "New" tag, that will instead be used to mark actually newly-introduced cosmetics.
      • Priority ordering (determining which items will show in first page) has been reworked to better highlight "general interest" items, such as transparent cosmetics, Owl of Minerva, AP Reset, Safety Charm.
      • Various inconsistencies have been corrected.
      • As our first Cash Shop update, a number of equipment from past events has been introduced, and is now purchaseable regularly.

        • Cow
        • Goat
        • Sheep
        • Duck
        • Rooster
        • As a note, only New Leaf City and Crimsonwood Keep mobs are still missing their story episodes, as they are custom cards.
      • Story episodes have been fixed for Red Kentaurus, Black Kentaurus, and one of the Temple of Time's Chief Guardians.
      • Typos in the episodes of the following mobs have been corrected:
          • Duku
          • Phantom Watch
          • Grim Phantom Watch
          • Squid

          • Veetron
          • Petrifighter
          • Elderwraith
    • Horus Eye crafting/upgrading is now scripted, and no longer requires the player to be under level 85.
      • Required materials did not change: the player still needs to obtain items from the PQ.
      • The first craft/upgrade will still be done via the usual quest (with no level cap). Subsequent upgrades will instead be handled via regular npc script.
        • This allows every player to have an equal quest completion record for the no-longer-repeatable crafting quest (for potential future Quest counting purposes), while not filling players' quest log with an always repeatable quest that cannot be removed.
    • [client] Time management functions have been reviewed, in an attempt to solve various issues:
      • Integer overflow causing the chat log to be filled with "You have played for X hours." messages upon login.
      • Facial expressions not working on seemingly random client bootups.
      • Mac client lacking a corrected time function alltogether.
      • Note that this is a speculative fix. It may or may not change the current live situation, as it is impractical to test due to the randomness of those events.
    • [client] A first version of our upcoming support for linked sprites has been introduced.
      • This feature is currently not enabled for players, as it requires further internal testing.
      • If successful, this implementation should result in a noticeable reduction of the total file installation size, as well as potential improvements on the client own memory usage.
    Changes and Bugfixes

    General:
    • The following Neo Tokyo expeditions can no longer get stuck in an active state, preventing new squad signups despite no ongoing fight in the channel, if the previous squad left the fight while the boss was being summoned via reactor trigger:
      • Bergamot;
      • Park PQ;
      • Dunas 1;
      • Nibelung;
      • Nameless Magic Monster.
    • Chief Tatamo's script has been recoded in stateless system, functionality unchanged.
      • Notably, fixed a bug where Chief Tatamo could "accept" 0 copies of an item in donation, which would then proceed to throw a silent error.
    • Sarah, Tara and Rydole (Ludibrium crafting NPCs) now once again correctly allow the usage of Stimulators, when crafting equipment.
    Items:
    • "Bling Bling Heart Mount" - Added a proper prone (ducking) frame.
    • "Dragon Skull Chair" - Correctly layered the chair.
    • "Aurora Crown" - Fixed an invisible frame.
    • "UFOpus Chair" - Player position above the ground has been corrected.
    • "Giant Pink Bean Cushion" - Added one-of-a-kind tag to prevent accidental looting for players that already own one.
    • "[Storybook] Black Book" - correctly spaced and capitalized the name, fixed typos and formatting in the description.
    • Chat label ring data for the Arctic Fox pets has been properly imported.
    • Chat label ring text color data for the Mouse pets has been corrected.
    Skills:
    • [Paladin] Charges no longer give Magic Attack buff.
      • This fixes an issue where casting a Charge with a lower magic attack than an already active one would result in both icons showing in the active buffs.
      • The magic attack had no contribution to the player's DPS.
    Maps:
    • "Ariant to Orbis Genie transport maps" - Fixed placement of an object that was offset by one pixel.
    • "Wolf Territory II" - Fixed a broken rope connection.
    • "Shaolin Sutra Depository maps" - Added Shaolin map marks.
    • "Soul Corridor" - Fixed the layering of objects to show where players can climb.
    • "Lab - Area A-1" - Fixed a non-moving end of one of the conveyor belts.
    • "Monkey Temple 1" - Fixed a few footholds in an attempt to fix the pet stuck problem, reported here.
    • "Monkey Temple 4" - Replaced an out-of-place tile with a better themed tree trunk.
    • "Monkey Temple 4" - Reworked some of the footholds so that players walking on the same platform won't suddenly fall off.
    • "The Engine Room" - Removed inaccessible footholds, that would cause characters to get stuck in a corner; polished the map to be HD2 compatible.
    • "2102 Roppongi Mall - Entrance" - Reworked some of the footholds to prevent Royal Guard touch damage from incurring at seemingly random places.
    • "Heart of Lava" - Corrected the moving lava layer and reworked the background to better suit HD2 resolutions.
    • "New Leaf City - Town Centre" - Revamped the town graphics and readded the bear at the bottom of the Bigger Ben.
    • "Ariant" - Reworked the portal decorations next to the Free Market to better distinguish the two destinations between the Palace and the Town of Ariant.
    • "Korean Folk Town : Fox Ridge" - Corrected map tooltip to show up on the signpost and in front of the ritual altar for the Scholar Ghost.
    • "The Forest of Golem" - The map name is now correctly capitalized.
    • "EPQ - Deteriorated Forest" - Fixed placement of an object that was offset by a few pixels.
    • "EPQ - Poisoned Forest" - Reworked foothold to prevent weird spawning issues.
    Npcs:
    • Athena and Yuris, in Ellin Forest, no longer blink excessively fast.
    Quests:
    • "Memory Keeper" quests (Temple of Time):
      • The quest scripts have been recoded (functionality is unchanged).
      • A beginner version of the quest has been introduced. It will ask the player to talk with Olaf in Lith Harbor.
      • Archer and Pirate quest info texts now correctly refer to the job instructors as "she".
      • Fixed some quest dialog typos.
    • "Looking For the Old Lady": Jade now correctly talks about "Spiruna", instead of "Spriuna".
    • "The Return of Capt. Latanica": starting the quest no longer requires the player to hold no White Essences.
    • "Lost in Translation 1": corrected a typo.
    • "Storming the Castle": corrected a typo.
    • A duplicate and glitched version of the "Eat This!" Haunted Mansion quest has been removed from the game.
    • "Jane's Final Challenge": the static dialog no longer mentions the % of the Gloves ATT scroll generated, to avoid confusion about the reward.
    • "Forgotten Name": fixed grammar in one of the sentences.
    • "Making the Cleansing Potion 2": fixed grammar in one of the sentences.
    • "What's Wrong with Albatross?": fixed grammar in one of the sentences.
    UI:
    • Corrected spelling of "LIGHTNING" in the Magician job categories, for the player stat window.
