Update #12:

Hi friends, boy, do I have something special for you guys today: it's a double issue!
That's right, it means that my mental has deteriorated to the point that I thought that doing 4 auf runs in one day would be a good idea.
Everyone makes mistakes, I guess.

For the first set of runs, I joined a NightzTM 6-man run.

Run 1:
The run was quite smooth and cleared in just under 37 minutes. Our dpm35s that we started at main body didn't even come back in time.

It was also my first time seeing an archer in auf in a long time so it was somewhat strange having an additional SE buff.

Conversation that took place before the run...
TORONTOTOKYO: Are you guys okay with me using blind?
Me: I don't mind. I'm happy to have reduced pot costs.

25 minutes later...


Whoops! Only my second death since starting this journal.
Boss debuffs displayed side by side with DR when?

Wow, that's a lot of helms!

6 helms dropped and since I rolled the highest I was able to loot two of them.

Run 2:
Yep, we're back to the run 2 curse. This run was omega scuffed and cleared in just under 71 minutes.

Some interesting shenanigans transpired during second clone wave.



Auf was unfortunately corkscrewed towards the right side as it dashed forward during an attempt to move the clone.
It was later rushed back towards the left at about the same time that clone DP'd.

In support of his Pasta guild leader, Nightz staged a protest and followed after untrue 5 minutes later.



Truly a tragic sequence of events. Auf seds him into clone, Nightz then quickly wills and tps back out left just as clone dps, followed by auf dashing forward at just the right moment to finish the job. Filthy.



Don't ask me why the clone was in the corner. I don't know either.

The final wave of triplets took us, the remaining four, about 13 and a half minutes, which felt like an eternity. By the time they were dealt with, auf had healed back up to about 60% HP.

With the clones all dealt with, it seemed like it would be smooth sailing from here on out, or at least as smooth as a run can be without a bishop.
I was wrong.

This final leg of the fight took the lives of two more of our comrades. It wasn't actually until I later reviewed the footage did I determine the likely culprit. That's right, blind.

Naturally, I knew beforehand that blind obscures the DR symbol but I figured at the time that it wasn't a big deal for experienced players, especially with timer call outs for DR. I suppose everyone's mental had begun slipping this deep into the fight though. It was quite a long slugfest after all.

At this point, TORONTOTOKYO and I each popped an apple and awkwardly closed out the fight as a hero + MM duo after a tense 11 minutes.

Ugh. Normally I'd just toss it but after all that trouble we just went through I figured I'd at least try throwing one at it.

For our latter set of runs, I ended up joining an impromptu 5-man run hosted by Celo later that day.

Run 3:
This run cleared in just over an hour. No major scuff, just on the long side.

During the second wave clone, I witnessed an unusual way to go out that I had never seen before: dying to clone DR.
Clone DR hits for only around 5k, which is to say that they succumbed by repeatedly smacking into it many times for a slow death like a frog in boiling water.



I would post the amusing gif but I was bribed with one auf str scroll to not expose them alas (you know how down bad I am for them) so the above is all you get. For enough str scrolls, I will DM you the full uncensored DLC.

This one's on the house though.

105 dagger and 105 2h sword.

Only one helm dropped. Fortunately, I was slotted to loot in the second run beforehand so this didn't really affect me.

Run 4:
Run cleared in just under an hour.
