I logged on the other day to go chill in FM Ch1 and it really saddened me to see what it had become. FM Ch1 used to be the place to chill. Everyone was there and it was lit AF. From the FM hoes and the mules, to the mid level players, all the way to the top of the rankings, they were all there. You would take a break from grinding and people were playing Omok, drop games, interacting with GM's, just shooting the shit and being silly.

Back in 2015, 2016, and maybe even the early months of 2017, there was an unwritten rule in the FM that was something like "don't spam shit about your shop or what you're selling". You set up your shop and shut the fuck up about it or maybe use 1 smega if you had some truely unique items. If you didn't shut the fuck up about it everyone would tell you to shut the fuck up about it. FM was for socialising, not trying to sell shit to people who didn't want it.

Just seems like a large portion of what made this server tight was lost and its a real shame if you ask me.

I never said it was an official rule or that it was even supported by staff. I'm saying it was just a thing among players. People didn't like the spam back then because it ruined conversations and that's no secret.

Dont know shit about royals because I don't play that so trust me, I'm not confused.

 

Why you trippin' over this?

People were not "trying their hardest" to stop people from selling shit in the FM. You have to think about the context. Back then there were fewer people so all you had to do was set up your shop and it was going to be seen 100% guarantee. If someone came into the FM spamming someone would usually be tell them that's not how we really do thing here (at the time) and let them know to set up a shop and just be patient. I'm sure most people didn't even need to be told, it was just obvious that's how it was.

I don't know why but it seems as if your a little annoyed at my post when I'm just explaining the reality of the past. Perhaps you think I'm saying that it should go back to being like that and press some sort of personal agenda? well I'm not, so don't trip.

It's not like this was anyone's favorite aspect of the game:

 

It's almost expected for the expectations of the FM's use to be different when an influx of players gets introduced.
Since you say it's an "unwritten" rule, the players coming in post 2016 have no idea of this rule.
The FM's main purpose in GMS was for selling stuff, and thus was used accordingly so I do not see a problem with it.

While yes a lot has changed in time for the server, I personally believe it's been much better than what it was before.

So while you may not see Ch 1 FM Entrance to be a place to hang out, try doing so in other channels.
It was a popular thing in GMS to allocate a specific FM room to be your "hangout" or guild room.

While you may find it to be saddening, there are plenty of alternatives to such.
