HT timer discussion

    I totaly disagree lvl 165 is more then enough to do propper ht run even with 6man idc doing 2.5 or 3 hour run.
    Also i dont need experience since i done ht many times prebb gms 14 years ago.
    Also the fact u point out to a bigger ht group iv applied to many runs and never picked to come.
    Reason for bucc isnt usefull enough then just si or tl
    If i want to ht with 6man and take 3 hours that would be my choise tbh.
    But now even with 10man they want high dpsers to clear.
    Your comment sounds like you use either hh mule or arent in the position im in.
    Ohh and also i did ht back then on lv 15x many timezls

    I used to think a higher HT timer was needed but after the runs I’ve been on lately i don’t think it’s really required anymore. If we want HT to be the endgame boss then it should be hard with a chance to fail. Also you absolutely don’t need high dps for a 10 man run. The harder part is finding somebody that’s hosting 2 party runs but it’s not impossible. If nobody is hosting runs suitable for you then maybe you can try hosting and see how it goes.

    You also don’t need NLs to clear HT. Here’s a 5 man run with an SI mule that we cleared with no apples and plenty of time.

    This idea that NLs are somehow above all other classes in HT is ridiculous. If you do the full run dpm tests you will see that there isnt that great of a difference between NL/heroes/pallys/BMs and even DKs assuming equal gear/level. NL is easiest class to reach their full damage potential because the latter classes require a greater degree of game knowledge and mechanics to fully optimize their dpm.

    There are a total of 9 non-mage classes in the game, 6 of them are easily top tier in HT (NL/shad/bm/hero/dk/pally). MM is not ideal most of the time, but they have SE so its not really too hard to find runs. Corsairs and buccs are going to have work a bit harder, but its nothing that can't be overcome with some gear/level improvements(and possibly some networking as stupid as that sounds).

    I very much was in your position when I was a 16x sair. Corsair is just as bad at horntail as buccaneer. So, what I did was join a bunch of 12 man runs to get better at control and focused on leveling my character to 180. Even right now, my character isn't good enough for most 1 party runs. I have to heartstopper to break 6m dpm, which is something most NIGHTLORDS (around my level) achieve using ciders or bear.

    Also, in legends we have a 2 hour timer, not a 2.5 - 3 hour one, so the level / damage requirement to do a proper 1 party horntail on this server is higher than you are use to.

    Neckson made the ht timer 12hour for a reason so ppl could start hting at 15x-16x and have fun. If you guys wanna run fast runs thats your choice. I'm not telling you guys how you should play the game i'm just saying there are ppl who could make time for a 3hour run but dont have the time to get to 18x+ with decent gear. And let's be real who has the time to make 12 mans anyway almost nobody and if you do manage to find 12 ppl 30% dont show. We are a oldschool server are we not?

    I agree a lot with this statement but there's also a lot of merit to having the end game boss being the hardest to clear. The rest of your comment is kind of questionable to me though. I think most of the current HTers started out doing 12 man runs so I don't think it's that crazy to expect newer/lower leveled bossers to also run 2 party HTs. Just personally I probably ran about half of my HT's (entered 174 times) as 2 parties and some of them were fairly recently. I've also seen players grow from 14x into the 16x-19x range and start HTing in both 1 and 2 party runs and they're doing just fine. All I can say is make some friends, join a guild, or join a discord group and you could probably join/host your own 2 party HT runs.

    You guys know what would make horn tail more fun and exciting instead of a short timer. Random seduces instead of having a shadower or hh mule be a sed mule and be able to tank literally everything even if your bishop has no eyes. I am in support of a longer timer but random seds to spice up horntails.
