Just saw the error log, that had never happened for me before (only happened to me when I did not replace the dlls), unfortunately I'm unable to help.

The few things I can think of is to try running on virtual desktop, force 32-bit env and set win98.
If you use lutris, you may consider setting it up manually using it. I'm not sure how it would help but, personally I only use lutris to launch maplelegends.

If all still fails, I guess the last resort will be to use the wine env provided in the wineskin, and hope it executes.

Yeah its still not working. Strange. Perhaps its some Void specific annoyance, or the fact ive hijacked Void with Bedrock Linux.
better not be bloody systemd shenanigans, that would be stupid.

I think the dll errors are a red herring, you are not making the same mistake I am are you? make sure to run wine from the game folder or use https://wiki.winehq.org/Start

Figured out the issue, but its not solved. Those modify_ldt calls? yeah thats wine trying to get 16bit compatibility mode working. It seems like the void linux kernel has 16bit mode removed, for security reasons. So while mint is fine, void is broke. Gotta find a way around that.

Maybe an unrelated question, but what are the odds legends will work on the steam deck? For my sake, hopefully good :X

probably 100% since u can juz install windows on it.
If you are on steamOS then, depends how much they allow you to modify the system. If you cant modify the wine's virtual environment, there's 0%chance of getting it to work.

well i broke my void install and installed mint, and after enabling virtual desktop it worked fine so... maybe it was virtualdesktop, maybe it was the kernel. who knows, it works now lol.

So for me when running gnome under Wayland I can multiclient with the single wine prefix with virtual emulated desktop turned off. When I change to gnome under Xorg it doesn't work anymore and has to be run with emulated virtual desktop turned on

Trying to get this working on an old laptop. Am I supposed to extract the .pkg? I don't get it. Xarchiver is not having it...

    yes, extract the pkg

xarchiver will contain a file called Payload. Extract it out, and rename it to Payload.xar.
If u do not rename to .xar at the back, xarchiver will not open the archive properly.
now juz dive into the wine prefix -> drive C and extract out the MapleLegends folder

Thank you for replying. I was confused because my system wasnt recognising .pkg as an archive... and the wording in the OP was really confusing at that part. Fixed it now and everything works great! :yay:
