Is MapleLegends Always Going to Be "Old School"

The Black mage thing has always been a thing and got a little more relevance after the temple of time and pink bean.
The Big bang and the Cygnus were the first step in furthering that story line. Resistance then gave more information about the black wings organization.
For me personally the issue was never the story or the new classes (well I mean having like 40 classes was a bit overkill). But mostly the new mechanics that were obvious revenue driven, GM Scrolls (100% success rate, but with 10% effect), enhancement/star forcing, potential (this was the biggest cause in my opinion). Very much limiting gear progression to p2w only. They did fix it with more recent mechanics though, but there's just too many systems in place.

For MapleLegends, I think resistance would be too different (and overpowered) compared to Adventurers, they got way more (and better) movement options and overall better skills. Cygnus could work, with some rebalancing (primarily Dawn warrior and Blaze wizard).
Adding Cygnus would also be a nice excuse to add Future Perion and Future Ereve (Empress boss maybe?).

KoC was a pre big bang patch (one of the later ones) so that might be an option.

 

Personally I don't really care for the Cygnus Knight classes at all; they're mainly just elemental remixes of the Explorer classes anyways, and it would likely make class balance even more of a nightmare.

However, Ereve is pretty nostalgic and I always thought the future versions of Henesys, Perion, and Ereve were pretty cool. If those were somehow added, I wouldn't mind at all. (Not that I really know what Ereve's purpose would be if the Cygnus classes don't exist but yknow)
