I'm graduating university this end of April and I will be backpacking/traveling to these countries from May to mid-June as a way to celebrate my "hard work" at school:

    • Viet Nam
    • Thailand
    • Singapore
    • Hong Kong
    • Macau

I know I can simply google travel tips for these countries, but I'd like to hear from you guys and see if there are any cool opinions on which cities/attractions I should visit! MapleF11

Also, if any of you are from the listed countries and want to give me a tour of their area, please let me know; I'll pay for food and/or drinks! MapleF2 I enjoy good scenery and authentic cuisine.

Only been to Hong Kong and Macau.
    (Actually going back in May).

I like travelling in HK, because everything uses this thing called an octopus card.
You pay for what you travel, so if you are travelling a bit farther you will be paying more.
Living is probably one of the most expensive things out there, so try to find a decent place (It may be small, but most HK people only use it for resting)
Food wise, you might want to be careful with street food especially if you have a western stomach.
I'm familiar with the street foods, but got food poisoning one time.
Food is generally cheaper, as little as $3-4 for a meal if you know where to look.
When purchasing clothing etc, make sure you understand if it's really cheap for a LV, Bape, etc. then it's most likely Fake.
If you're looking to go experience places you can go to the marine land, disney land, monkey hill etc.

Macau from what I experienced is mainly casinos.
Not sure where I went, I was there to renew something.
Generally the streets from what I saw were filled with vendors selling square jerkys.

Really good things to note, thanks man! I'm going for a cheaper approach and will be staying at hostels and/or couchsurfing, but in return I always down to spend a lil more cash on the expensive stuff if the experience is worth it.

I saw the title of the post and I was like... is that Eric??? Guess I was right hehe

But ya Hk and SG are both really easy to get around with public transport. HK's octopus card for the subway & the trams (it's a very vintage vibe on the trams and when I visited with my friends we spent the bulk of our time on it. Really enjoyed the scenery u get from it and the cultural vibe).

Singapore's MRT is hella continent too. And the AC pretty much in every station is a life saver too :D
