    Opening caveats:
    1. I like card grinding
    2. I always planned to get tier 10 monster ring on each of my main characters
    3. I want to have a sort of mule around my priest while grinding to get max HS effectiveness anyways

So, I've been thinking of leveling up a monster ring on a low level character without leeching them so they can get as much out of the bonus int as possible. I'm already working on grinding up to tier 10 on my main, so I would simply need to get an extra set for each monster (which I don't mind since I'd be spending my time grinding anyways).

I'm just wondering if anyone has experience or advice with this? I'm thinking in order to avoid leeching I could make the mule wait in an adjacent map, or wait in another channel, or wait in market, or wait in the same map just out of party. Is there one you guys would reccomend?

Also, survivability while gathering cards would be a problem. My level 7 character has roughly 100 HP. But HP scrolls are cheap and I could probably get close to +400 HP with scrolled equipment. Combining this with the bonus HP from leveling up the ring and I should be able to take a hit from pretty high level monsters.

Am I missing something here? Would it be impossible to get a high tier monster ring on a level 7 character? Maybe leveling up the monster ring gives xp so I can't stay level 7? Or some areas are not available as a level 7 beginner even with high health? Is there anything else I could do to improve survivability? (I don't have a hyper body mule)

    Thanks for the advice.

People have done this, and IMO it is a wasted opportunity.

Monster card grinding will end up giving you significant exp that you can use to level up your character. The amount of MP that you miss out on from not having tier 10 ring initially is trivial.

I think it is better to use monster card farming to gain levels on lower level chars, because if you are leveling an INT char, going from 30-65 is the hardest part of the journey to level 120.

Anyways, the people that do end up trying this usually use a bishop. Whenever a card drops, they use the skill "Doom" to change surrounding monsters into snails, then door the mule to the card so it can loot without dying.

I am getting quite a bit of exp on my Priest from card grinding actually, so the exp is not going to waste.

And I prefer monster card farming with a good AoE skill. Some mobs and maps are a horrible chore to grind at an "appropriate" level, while they might just take 20-30 minutes with a good AoE skill.

Using Doom is an interesting idea. I'll think about that.

Its good to know that its doable though. I don't know if I'll grind to tier 10 on my low level character, but I feel like getting a few tiers would be very possible without too much trouble.

Update: I did a test run with a mule last night, gathering cards from monsters that can 3 hit kill it and it was actually not very bothersome. Some maps and monsters will likely be more annoying, but all things considered I only have to pick up a card 5 times, its really not that big a deal as long as I don't get 1 hit killed. And my Priest leveled up in the process. :D

I don't really care about bossing. I think this is fun. I just wanted to know if I was missing anything that would make it particularly difficult, or tricks that would make it easier.
