Map Ownership Transfer command

How about a command that allows manual transfer of mapownership to another player in the map?

This is useful when you want to pass ownership to a friend or someone else in particular in a map with other strangers, so that once you leave and the remaining people continues to train, the mapowner doesn't jump to someone at random.

 

You can already camp a map by occasionally hitting a mob. In this case, instead of hitting a mob once in a while, you'd have to transfer map to a friend instead if you want to keep mapownership.

@Kim so even if you are already training with one friend and one stranger and want to leave the map, you cannot pass ownership to friend and instead have to let the mapowner decide after your time expires?

If someone occassionsly wants to buy a map from someone else in private I guess it wouldn't hurt, but I wouldn't want the server to end up with people hogging maps at every opportunity because they want to try and sell it off, which is a likely enough consequence of allowing or supporting map selling.

 

I'm only suggesting this with the rare case in mind that I might want to have a friend take-over the map when there are strangers around, but points have been raised that this is likely to be abused to sort of monopolize maps and/or make map-selling easier, which is not something we want.

If you're referring to the problem of map-selling, while opening 20 channels would ensure free maps for almost everyone, it is arguable whether this is what we want in a server where there is no competition for maps and there are 20 channels of bosses for our relatively low population to slay, though that is a different topic altogether.
