Are you basing this off the reset window where it says -90 for example? For what I know this is a visual thing only and the actual subtraction is -30, no matter what it shows.
If however, after the reset more than 30 mp is taken from MP pool (double check when resetting) then its another issue.

Interesting, I was taking my guildmates' word for it and did not ask for this clarification.

I have no reason to believe that they double checked the actual MP lost from their MP bar against what the AP reset told them their MP loss was, but will investigate further.

Is this discrepancy between the listed and actual values consistent across all magician characters?

If this is the case, it is more than likely that they were only going off of the listed loss, and not calculating the actual loss.

PS thanks for the speedy response.

For what I know its for all mage characters yeah, I don't have an actual washing mage my self (only 82 priest) but I've heard about it ingame a lot.
Have them double check, and if it indeed does more probably best to bug report it, if not, its the usual visual thing.

Update: Confirmed that despite how much the AP reset claims to be reducing MP by, magician classes do only lose 30 MP per wash.

I want to ask a question
1000 is the max limit for ap reset right?
so how do we know if we have reached the limit or how much has already been used?

Nope. There’s unlimited resets you can use and your ap can go above 1000 as well

I've heard a few people say that a max of 1000 resets can only be used on a character, and I was wondering if that's true it would be hard for me to wash a ranged character If that happens

awesome, i thought a lot about that but now it's solved, thank you

I believe the correct formula is:
    Or, more specifically:
Since there also appears to be a ~0 to +2 variance in the expected results when testing.

Shivering wrote about this in their guide here.

This matches what TrueKebabTrueKebab reported in their testing:
It's worth noting that these results differ from the Improved MaxMP Increase skill description.
Thanks to ShadowaaShadowaa for highlighting this, and fartsyfartsy for helping me investigate.

    nope

20 mp from level up, 10 mp from skill, 18 mp from base

adds up to net base int/10 -2

    jk ur right

    Reset
    HP Lost from Stale AP

Adding a few additional formulas to this list. Albeit, apart from a few niche applications, they're not as relevant... but wanted to include them here for the sake of consistency.
    • Beginner: HP Lost from Stale AP: 10 hp (example)
    • Magician: HP Lost from Stale AP: 10 hp (example)
    • Warrior: HP Lost from Stale AP: 54 hp (example)
    • Bowman: HP Lost from Stale AP: 20 hp (needs confirmation)
    • Thief: HP Lost from Stale AP: 20 hp (example)
    • Pirate (Gunslinger): HP Lost from Stale AP: 42 hp (needs confirmation)
    • Pirate (Brawler): HP Lost from Stale AP: 42 hp (example)

Fun fact: Unlike the HP/MP Gained formulas, the MaxHP and MaxMP skills have no effect on the HP/MP Lost formulas. (example, example, example)

    Fixed typo thank you NightzNightz

Warrior loses 54 hp, not 42

The beginner HP loss also has a niche use for when you are making a beginner mage. For example when leveling the early levels you can put all points into HP and keep remaking the character until you highroll well enough since the fresh HP gain is 8 to 12 per AP. if you roll 12 HP 5 times and then reset it right away you have gained 10 extra HP since you only remove 10 per reset.

It's very small gains but it can be fun to try and min max this for a couple levels
