Is a way of speaking, the mentality of instead of making the rest of the game better we need to make this part that is dominant worst. Lucky enough I'm glad that this mentality wasn't applied to the job balancing, Imaging that instead of buffing jobs like Buccaneer, Marksman, or Paladin we nerfed Nightlords and Bishop (Yes NL did have one nerf but it never affected its damage capabilities or role that they have in the game).

I've seen stuff about this subject, humans have a negativity bias, that's why a nerf always causes more discomfort than a buff causes joy; so buffing the rest to make a more or less even playground may be a better idea, that way people that play the game on different ways get something out of it: bossers, farmers, quest lovers.

An argument against it would be that this is one of the causes of power creep, and is true. Power creep is created when you introduce new content and that new content is better than what is already in the game, if it isn't better people will barely play it (this happened to the pirate class back then) and did happened to changes like the new map of Zombies that is a neat change but Ghost Ship si far better. ML had its fair share of power creep that was avoided at the beginning but was added anyway: Apples, The Mark of Naricain, Facestompers, Timeless and Reverse weapons, and so on.

Everyone got stronger and now the power is far higher than before but the essence of the old MapleStory isn't gone, the old jobs, the skills (even tho some are kinda messy). But well thats my opinion and how I see the situation. Sorry for the long reply

I can bypass that 4 clients by having another PC and a VPN. Unless you want ML to make their anti farming system super intrusive like Riot Game's Vanguard Anti Cheat system in which it's not possible to add and too hard to code.

How are the GMs gonna know if the other character in the other channel is the same player?

Don't see how this would benefit anything.

But everyday there are already so many Horntail runs. Is that still considered bossing being more obselete?

the fact that people could bypass the ip restriction or the 4 clients/map rule is not the problem. for instance, you can always account share/rwt but you gonna get banned someday. Rules are rules. Everyone who jugded the suggestions considered people bypassing them. This just doesnt make sense to me.

They did nerf Night Lords, they nerfed Critical Throw (2nd Job Passive Skill) but since their damage was utter trash for Assassins thus was reverted.

Night Lords were able to use Shadow Web as if it were Assaulter and dash up to a monster for more mobility but its not like that in ML. (Shadow Web Jump)

All skills have been copy pasted from Ayumilove guides from Before Big Bang.

    [IMG]Critical Throw
Enables the character to make a critical attack with throwing stars on a certain success rate. This skill is recommended to be max! This skill increases the damage of your attacking skill base on chances of occurring. If red damage pops up, it shows that Critical is being activated! This allows assassins to dish out more damage than they could not previously in 1st job.

    [IMG]Hurricane [Storm of Arrows]
Launches arrows at a tremendous speed, as chaotic as a nasty rainstorm. Hurricane (aka Storm Arrows) shoots 8 arrows per second. It’s the fastest skill among all MapleStory jobs. However, Night Lord (4th Job Assassin) attacks much faster when it has Shadow Partner + Triple Throw + Booster. Storm Arrows is not affected by speed buff such as Bow Attack Speed, Bow Booster and Speed Infusion (4th Job Buccaneer Skill).

ALT+Tab Hurricane isn't considered "botting" but tabbing out works as if ALT(Hurricane) is being held down so in turn should be deemed botting, but.. isn't??

    [IMG]Mesos Explosion
Explodes the mesos dropped on the ground around you to attack monsters. The mesos from the monsters killed by someone else will not be able to be used for this. Great against Bosses (Zakum, Papulatus, Pianus, etc) Since there is 4th Job Advancement, not many people use this skill, because its costly (cost millions of meso to kill a boss). So players rather use their 4th Job skill to deal damage. Pretty useful for funder Chief Bandit players who want to power level in mid 70-90 using Meso Explosion!

Chief Bandits being the ones that could hit 20 monsters at once as long if they're in the explosion radius would hit 20 at level 26, Blizzard, Genesis, Meteor hits 15, for obviously more mana. You funny.

Assassinate in old MS would hit 999,999(max damage) regardless when maxed, this was nerfed later on.

    4221001.png Assassinate

Transforms one into dark sight and attacks a monster 4 times consecutively, with a success rate of dealing a fatal blow on the last hit.

    - Shadow Star Bug(SSB) Can be bugged to only throw your main star as long as you don't attack or use any skill that uses up to the point that one star is left in the main set so that it takes out stars from a different set but has its damage and visuals of the main set. (MTK > Steelys > MTK shown, Steelys taken out.) [Tried in Saga but in GMS its been patched since they revamped (buffed, flying stars wow nice game design lol..) Night Lord, but Reboot is ew.]

For me personally, I hated how this worked because its pretty much being a poor noob that can't purchase legit sets in order to play the game and it's basically cheating just how it is with ALT+TAB Hurricane.

    Screen Shot 2021-04-21 at 10.39.29 AM.png

After my HP washing is done I'm going to purchase more use slots and craft 4 more sets of BF, however if I'm able too I'll be swapping them for MTKs even if SSB isn't fixed.

    "preserving game essence"

Aren't you the one always selling 5-6 leech? Is that the game essence you want to preserve? Making selling leech the only plausible way of generating decent mesos?

Just because someone found an alternative to make mesos that doesn't benefit you directly, you want to nerf it. :yay:

You're not making any sense comparing IP Restrictions to Account Sharing/Real World Trading - Those are 2 different things and rules altogether.

Besides, if you're confident that this suggestion is going to work, you need to go further in detail on how a GM is going to double their work or even triple their work to monitor and catch people bypassing this IP Restriction.

You might as well suggest that multi clienting be disabled altogether, that's an easier solution than making a more suggestion that's going to cause more problems than solve the problem itself.

Also, Motto did mention almost the same thing I did on the other thread u replied. IP Restrictions are easily bypassed via VPN. And before you talk about hardware ID restrictions, I can just get a cheap PC to run another client or use Hardware ID spoofing.

The fact that people would even go so far as to bypass a multiclient restriction/ban by booting up 5 more devices and literally p2wing PCs to farm mesos in a private server of a 20yo game is fucking wild to me I'm sorry. I'd understand if you would be some OSRS gold seller and it'd put food on the table irl but holy moly

Preserving game essence, old school MS btw kekw

Just remove auto hp/mp from the game and enable using pots in dark sight. People actually have to pay attention and multiclienting gets exponentially harder

Multiclienting would look like professional starcraft2. I'd like to see that

To be honest, this wouldn't impact multimage farming methods all that much. It would require 8 additional inputs every 30-40 seconds and would be treated like re-buffing. Sure, one of the mages might die once in awhile early on, but like every other thing in this game, it'll be engrained into muscle memory fairly quickly through enough practice and repetition.

I love how the suggestions in these types of threads just get stupider and stupider as the days go by. Always a joy to read eksdee.

Only way to nerf multimage is to nerf single mage and thus have it impact all mages. Better would be to offer more viable alternatives over leeching from mages. We already have superior grinding opportunities until around lvl65. At lvl65 some classes are better off leeching at WR and this continues later at CDs, WS, ulu 1/2/3, petri, skele, etc.

IMO leeching can stay as a luxury. something to do in your off-hours to speed up the leveling or whatever. I don't mind mages getting a minor nerf, but I don't think it's the solution to the problem. I'd much rather see the viability of other class grinding buffed. Especially single target oriented classes that would usually stick to bossing.
