On the recent Shad buffs

Alyosha Thought I'd post some dummy tests as well since you posted numbers It may be hard to compare cross-class/gear, but dunno might be interesting

1. 3-target DPM on guava (same as rage/bear), + MW20 + SE (BoomStep + Band of Thieves) >>> 11.22 mil
2. solo DPM on guava + MW20 (Assasinate + BoomStep) >>> 5.94 mil
3. solo DPM on guava + MW20 (Assassinate only) >>> 6.21 mil

My gear infos: 126 att 16 luk GDK, 30 att 3 luk D Khanjar, 14 att gloves, 5 att cape, T8 ring, 23/22/21/22 HTP, 6 att popsicle, 2 str 9 dex 5 luk shoes, 2 dex 20 luk top, 15 dex 4 luk legs, 17/32/13/15 helmet.

 

BoomStep is our main mobbing technique, even before the skill buff Assassinate was always a shad's main attack for solo-target. It's optimal for us to use BoomStep > Band of Thieves DPM-wise when grinding or bossing if there are 3 or 4 targets (CWKPQ, parts of Zakum arms, parts of Horntail). If there's 1 target, the only Assassinate macro is best, and if there are 2 targets the Asssasinate > BoomStep macro is best.

That being said the difference in solo-target damage between the Assassinate + BoomStep macro and Assassinate alone is pretty insignificant, so most shads opt to use the macro including BoomStep while bossing for the long iframes

 

Yeah you right man, 5% is a large amount over time for sure. I suppose I should have said many shads would find the iframes more valuable than that much of a damage increase. The difference in how much damage we take using the boomstep macro is a lot from my experience, esp when you time the macro so that boomstep allows you to dodge attacks
