    Description of the bug:
After the event begins, it came to my attention that my pet (a black bunny, if that matters) would disappear from time to time as I (a lv 104 hermit, if that matters) walk around, climbing rope up and down platforms when farming. The latest patch does not solve this problem. You can double click on on the pet in the inventory twice to re-activate it.

Auto-potion still works, but obviously no meso/item pick-ups. I also noticed that my pet falls from sky more often than it used to be. My hypothesis is that it gets stuck somewhere out of the screen when repositioning/respawning when it becomes too far away from the character.

    What is supposed to happen?:
Pets should not disappear as long as they are well-fed

Where did you find and/or notice this bug?
    :
Maps where you need to climb up and down platforms. It seems not to be a problem when you do not have to climb ropes or get on and off different platform levels.

    A step-by-step guide to re-producing this bug
    (optional):
Find a map where there are platforms, hunt with your pet normally as you climb up and down platforms, then it would disappear after some time.

    Extra information (optional):
Found this problem in some deep ludi maps, showa street, among others

bump for attention - actually this is getting a bit annoying as you need to try to respawn your pet from time to time when grinding

Given your description of the issue, I'm guessing you're playing MapleLegends via Parallels on some sort of Silicon Mac. By default, in this particular environment (Windows 11 on ARM in my case), pet positioning gets very wonky when you climb on things such as ropes and ladders. In order to prevent this from occurring, you want to do the following:

    1. Open the application properties menu (such as by right clicking on the application icon)
    2. Select the Compatibility tab
    3. Click the button toward the bottom of the window titled "Change emulation settings"
    4. In this ARM emulation settings menu, check the box labeled "Disable hybrid execution mode (x86 apps only)". You can check this box manually by first checking the "Use advanced settings" box, or you can simply change the group emulation settings from "Default" to "Safe emulation", which will automatically check the box for you (as well as some others)

Do note that if you change the group emulation settings to "Strict execution" or "Very strict execution", you likely will reliably crash in some areas of the game, such as certain bosses (at least this has been my experience).

It is worth mentioning that there is still some bugginess in situations where there are lots of non-meso items on the ground and when you have Item Pouch equipped on one or more of your pets (it can also happen simply by holding down the pick up button when the volume of non-meso items is great enough). This is to say that your client framerate will drop tremendously and the client can/will lag to the point of crashing (it can even crash the entire VM if the buildup is bad enough). This particular issue is unfortunately related to the implementation of Windows on ARM and how it goes about emulating MapleLegends rather than it being something such as a lack of processing power. I confirmed that it was isolated to Windows on ARM by discussing with other users who play in this environment (all of whom I spoke with face this issue), as well as by testing these specific in-game circumstances with Mac client itself (CrossOver) as well as with the Wine client in a Linux VM, neither of which has this problem. Sadly, until something changes on Windows' end or some other reliable workaround can be figured out, the only way to avoid this issue is to not equip the Item Pouch in areas where lots of non-meso items will build up.

    Hope this helps!

OMG, thanks so much for this detailed response! Yes - I am running on Parallels and I am also experiencing lags even crash when there are lots of items on the ground (e.g., pocky leeching or when group grinding in ToT while no one picks up the etc.).

I will test this solution soon and hopefully this addresses the issue. Again, greatly appreciate it!
