I had T-Mobile last year and it never worked. It was hell. But this year I decided to switch to AT&T. And it was N amazing choice. I have service everywhere in town and on the boat INCLUDING in my sleeping area, but out in sea/ocean. I get no service which is completely understandable

When we sleep on the boat in town, we are tied to the dock where there isn’t really any waves or storm potential. When we are out at sea. We anchor out somewhere near shore where there isn’t as much waves, mostly in crevices near land then we travel to the fishing spot. For the most part, we don’t fish out in the ocean ocean. So the waves aren’t as bad, but the boat does rock…

Mae mostly eat the fish we catch sometimes. At the end of the day, if we catch a king/coho/sockeye. We’ll have rice mostly with veggies + fish.
When we go back to town, we’ll go into the grocery store and stock up on milk/cereal/lots of bread and eggs. Drinks but mostly water. Spam. Salads. We usually eat in town at the restaurants and what not.

We shower and do laundry back in town. So while we’re in sea, there are no showers. So at-most we shower once every 2-3days. When we go out to eat. If we’re in town, usually go to the gym and shower there or at the laundromat.

We do have a hose on the deck, but the water pumps straight from
The ocean. So it’s hella cold + salty. So it would mostly just be a rinse and shampoo, but it’ll still be salty.

Dang thats awesome you can get connected on the go like that, there really is no obstacle too big now to connect. And having a hard time being online in middle of ocean makes sense lol. I hope you keep providing more updates! I love it.

Yesterday’s 2nd opener wasn’t a pleasant one. Got unlucky and only fished for 5hrs and only got about 150lbs of fish, which is about 30-40 fish. Slow start of the season, hopefully Sunday is better.

    No
No, they just end up slowly dying in the net or on the deck before they go into the hatch. Some die in the hatch and some stay alive. When we sell to the company we are contracted with.

Had our 3rd opener today. Got home after 3 days. Our anchor snapped off, so we have to higher a diver to get it T_T
Would say we caught maybe… 1600lbs? I’m about 5 sets. We called early cuz the fish wasn’t biting as much as they should’ve. Not a bad pace…. Season starting slow but it’s okay!
Enjoy photos and 2 chum salmon + video of 2 humpback whales on the way back home!

Best fcking day happened on Thursday 4th opener. Fished from 5am-8pm, only because we farmed a WHOPPING 22,195lbs. The price of salmon was .82cents/lb. you can do the math ;)
Going back out today to fish all day

Update: our anchor is still missing at the bottom of the ocean, we have to hire a diver to retrieve since it snapped off.

I’ll check out how much fish we’ve caught total after this Sunday’s opener.
Some photos of the fish hatch + fishcakes we made after catching a sockeye salmon!

1,64 per kilo salmon and here I am spending 3 euro per 100 gram

Do you think I could go ashore and ask a fisher for some salmon, would they sell it to me at a good price?

Yeah it’s possible! Usually if you know them, it’s easier sell to you instead of the company they’re contracted with.

Been gone for awhile, been kindve busy and just enjoying my time out here in Alaska. fishing has been pretty damn dope this year and got 1 month left. We’ve been doing 2 day openers now instead of 1. (Basically fish for 2 days straight, then rest 1 day in town, leave again and repeat).

One buddy got injured working out and tore his muscle + got an infection so he was gone for a week recovering. The other went back home for the week to go to a wedding. So the captains wife + dad came to fill in. Which was dope having really good meals + more pay (splits)

here’s a video of selling fish to a tendor (we call this game show) enjoy

24 days left of the season. Did another 2 day opener.
    First day: 22,000 lbs!
    Second day: 26,000 lbs!!
Total for both days: 48,000 pounds… our host holds max 55,000 so almost filled up ton the max!

Picture of a king salmon, that we couldn’t keep due to “not enough coming up north, so we couldn’t sell it”. We had to leave it on the tendor :(
