I'm all for additional content, especially new maps for exploration and training alternatives. However, our prime focus right now is getting Magatia.

Here's my stance on this: there are only two ways to go with a server that is supposed to represent a "nostalgic" experience.

The first one is, keeping the custom content to a minimum. This means adding no new training grounds, quests, PQs etc. This way, you are truly representing what the game was in v0.62. (Exceptions are of course imported NX items, to attract donators.) Is that what people come here for?

The second one is, implement all areas of old. Shanghai, Ulu City (yes, it came out pre-v0.62 in MSEA), China, Japan, Coke Town, Kaede Castle, Taiwan, Thailand, Night Market etc. (Just naming things off the top of my head.) This way you are giving players from all over the world a chance to experience MapleStory as it used to be, and also experience all the places in Maple they never got to visit back in the day.

 

More places to go to, more diverse server, something I've never seen in a v62 server. Why not?

To add to this, perhaps with regards to new content it is better to consider the ones that are available on all versions of MS (ToT and such), before moving on to the long list that Puck wrote. Also, Shanghai and similar maps were removed from MapleSEA in later versions for reasons I don't know.

 

I think you are missing my point. All the areas I listed were available before v0.62 in the respective official MS servers. ToT came out later and does therefore not represent the game as it was around v0.62.

 

Oh. But still ToT was available in all versions of MS post v-62, while the others are more region specific although they are in v62. I find it an easier decision to choose to add later version content compared to other content not available in every region (because then you might have to consider all the other unique content in all the other versions).

 

May not represent GMS v62, but adds more to the stale late game.

 

ToT is not v62 nor is it anywhere near it. But if ToT is added, might as well add CWKPQ and all that good stuff.
That being said, I completely agree Puck. Although Ive never been to any of those maps, Ive heard so much about those places during my v62 years, which stirs up an odd sense of nostalgia.

 

ToT is pretty much required for a 2x server in order to keep lategame interesting.

Yeah itll definitely keep late game interesting for the first month or so. Moral of the story? Everything is going to get old. So might as well just keep it to v62. Besides ToT has OP training spots for CBs, no?
