Hi! I'm planning on starting this challenge sometime soon and I had a question.
I realize we're not exactly allowed to bring anything into the Dungeon or leave afterwards, but I looked at the list of available mobs (and particularly, available mob cards) and there's a very unfortunate 26 (unless I missed any).

I was wondering what the community would feel about being allowed to complete 4 Monsterbook sets before going to Sleepy at lvl 20 in order to obtain the Tier 1 Monsterbook Ring. This would not bring any game-breaking changes along with it, but it could be something fun to look forward to as a completionist's goal.

Of course. limitations on the specific mob cards that can be obtained. I was thinking along the lines of Blue Snail, Red Snail, Shroom and Orange Mushroom (as these cards are low level and generally easy to obtain before lvl 20).

 

No one forces you to follow their rule and obey for it. even if they do, there's no reason for you to follow it.
I'd say, challenge and its rule is a kind of nothing but example, not a rule must be kept.
Some may feel accomplishment for something else, they're deserved to set their own rules.

Follow your heart leads, that's how to enjoy game imo. since sleepywood challenge is for self-accomplishing, not showoffing.

Also, I'm doing this challenge with my own tweaked rule, not exactly same with OPs rule, and I'm feeling fun from it. again, everybody has different opinions, and it's not "wrong" but "difference". I think so.

What community would think, doesn't matter. if you feel fun, than it's right path, for sure.

 

Oh, I fully agree. I wouldn't necessarily consider the views of others to be the deciding factor for whether or not I approach my sleepyguy with or without the 4 monsterbook sets. I was just curious how others had approached this/felt about it.

I think I'm gonna be getting the 4 sets and starting at level 10, seems like the most complete experience to me.

New challenger reporting in. I've spent 60*50 meso on red pots and 499 as entrance fee for the sauna. I then dropped 10 meso as tribute.
I guess warrior is a pretty cheap class to do this with, but I've never played a pally before (on ML) and this seemed like the time to do it!

First grind complete, definitely needed to adjust to not being able to just transfer over stronger gear from other chars, but it's super satisfying progression so far. Made it to lvl 14 & 70%, here's the first haul:

On top of this, meso count is sitting quite nicely at 8.5k.

Little personal highlight is no longer missing on Horny Mushrooms, makes the grind a tonne easier!

Post 3. I noticed I'm not playing sleeper character so devoted, so it's nonsense to post as "day xx".
but still playing sleeper is really healing method for myself when i'm tired for surface dweller life in ML.

So I started to work on 99 and 999 quests of hornies and zombies

and horrible 999s started. = nice motivation for grinding.


So I started from approx 100k mesos, after burning up all pots, made it 400k.
I think i finally succeeded to break marginal point, means, NO MORE FKING CHAIR AFKING! *cries*



Rewards of 999s are... bleh. well, better than nothing but, bleh is bleh

My gachapon luck finally turned around!

This resulted in enough money to get my pot situation sorted as well.

Perfect timing, just hit lvl 20 and I can now try to fight my way through ant tunnel

Edit: Still got 0 usable armor or weapons. As I'm sticking with a kind of iron-man concept where I try to avoid accepting any equips from people, it's still proving to be a very slow process.

He rode the waves and fell asleep.. Now he wakes up in a forest, quite confused. He takes the wrong step, and now the surfer who didn't want to fight will join the challenge

 

DAY 1
Got to a strange town and met a sleepless gunslinger. She gave me equips and scrolls - of which 2\2 didn't work F4

She took me around for hunting a bit, got another lvl in. That's it for today

 

This looks so much fun, i think i will take the plunge as soon as I think of a name

I tried this as mage and could only buy like 8 mp pots lol. Maybe I'll make a new character for it.

Edit: For clarification, I started at level 11 so I don't have the MP recovery yet.
