For the average new player, you can get away with much less int earlier on. A lot can be done with a little given a commitment to mp washing and not skipping out of larger portions of the game through leech. AP Reset deficits will tend to bite folks in the butt if they choose to rush to 135, and that's about where you'd start to run into problems with access to fresh AP and meeting goals.

For me, I went with 10 int every 10 levels, just slowly dumping it in there as I went along. Around level 90, I started MP washing with all of the points that didn't directly go into HP washing. Around 100 I kicked my int up to 120 to begin only MP washing with my AP, and cycling AP into HP with however much MP I could afford. I haven't gone past that int and I don't think I plan to, but on levelup I have some garbo int gear so it's 160. As a frame of reference at level 123 I have 6141 HP before gear and enough MP to get another 400 HP. If I keep this int until 160 I should reach 10k clean HP. If I keep it until 180 I can reach 12k clean before gears.

Personally, I don't think it's right to tell new ranged players they're messing up by not washing early on. I think the bigger taboo should be on placing AP directly into stats past level ~100 or so. Saying "You're screwing up your character because you don't have enough int" is wrong but saying "You should look into smart AP placement when you reach level 100" at least plants the seed while they're still young. If they're just enjoying the game at their own pace then they shouldn't have too much of an NX problem. Might as well play the tortoise, the game isn't going anywhere and there's something interesting to do at all levels.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree and I'm aware of the 'options' one has when mp washing. However, given the sheer volume of extra NX this requires, I'm not particularly fond of it.

If this char starts to experience a very severe dip in leveling speed early on, I might consider mp washing to play a larger part.

Yeah a leveling speed dip would allow more NX to accumulate before you start to actually wash. Anyhow, if you plan to get to 140 int, you could definitely start double washing already as soon as you hit that goal. (earlier as well, but that's when it gets truly much)

Day 5: The first milestone!!

Playtime today: 2 hours and 30 mins
Total playtime: 9 hours and 45 mins

Started off the day with the welcome surprise of seeing my YAC sold!

Finally, this character had some actual money to get started on the real adventure~

Owled for some cheap scrolls, found a few worth buying and using, made the following upgrades:

Started the day off in a good mood, close to 30, and motivated to make the final push!

First things first, another SUPER EPIC CARD HUNTING COLLAGE

Anxiously looking at the clock and seeing my useful studying time ticking away, but being lvl 29 and far too close to the first milestone, I pushed on strong.

Also sold some more stuff, including a spear 30 that I forgot to screenshot

(This was the Shield W.att 30 selling)

Finished the first real moneymaker quest!

And finally, becoming a big boi:

Badaboom.

Where does this leave us?

Future plans:

Possibly continue grinding at Genins, the exp is very nice and the additional income from Mithril Ores isn't bad.

Put my new flashy Iron Arrow skill to use for more CARD FARMING.

Start the Ariant / Magatia quests.

Upcoming expenses:

Buying a level 35 Maple Crow

Continue saving up mesos for Zhelm and Deputy Star.

Day 6: This game is RIGGED and I'm taking a break.

Playtime today: 2.5 hours
Playtime total: 12 hours 15 minutes

Yadayadayada woohoo 30-35 done, Ariant questline 30-34, genins 34-35. Farmed Cloud Fox for an hour but go no Newspaper hat so OA Dex 30 quest will have to wait.
Finally hit 35, bought a Maple Crow from Chris:

Kinda shitty stats, but with some scrolling it should still be a lot better than my 42 att lvl 12 xbow.

However, as I could not afford to boom this xbow at all, I was limited to using 60s for now.

Alright, alright, that can happen from time to time. 2/7 is just slightly unlucky.

So we also bought a lvl 43 xbow! Figured that would be a welcome upgrade.

Surprisingly I actually found this store after owling for the xbow 60s below it, figured I couldn't let this one slip.

SURELY this time the scrolling will be better, right? Pretty hard to do worse than 2/7. Still limited to 60s though, and we all know how scammy those are.

Update:
Went hard tilt, had 4.3m left, saw another lvl 43 xbow for 4.1m.
60s weren't doing it, time for 70s.

Day 7: Slowly making moves again!

Playtime today: 2.5 hours
Playtime total: 14 hours and 45 minutes

I needed a break from Maple over the past 2 days (absolutely totally completely unrelated to the scrolling debacle), was refreshing and now I'm starting to get back into my little marksboi!

Coming back to Maple and seeing my total funds had decreased from 8m down to 1.1k did somewhat hurt, but we sold some fame and got back to it.

Started today off by completing The Old Tree for a fat 80%, forgot to screenshot it but I did run into a reader on the way back to Perion!

Went back to farming more Cloud Foxes for a Newspaper hat for This Quest, but found no luck after like an hour and decided to leave it for now. The Cloud Fox map isn't particularly ideal for my class and I'd rather come back when I'm closer to 1shotting them consistently.
SUPER COOL COMPILATION OF FARMING STUFF THO

^Quick explanation about the locations;

Farmed This Map for Cloud Foxes for the Newspaper hat.

Farmed This Map so I could get Curse Eye Tails for This Quest and This Quest

Farmed Evil Eye Tails for Strange Dish 1 (same as above) here

The reason I got started on Mr. Wetbottom's quest is that I could then start farming Cursed Dolls from Zombie Lupins at Monkey Forest II, a pretty chill/afk grinding map for ranged characters. It's practically a tenfold better on Bowman compared to Marksman, but this was still pretty chill and, when I have 2300 dolls, I'll complete This Quest for some decent exp.

For Kyrin (Easy quest, gives good exp and you can just ask a jr wraith leech seller for the free Tablecloths)

Lazy Little Calico (Just farm 10 extra Evil Eye Tails when farming them for Strange Dish)

Progress today:

I'm calming down on the base int, with the right amount of MP washing it shouldn't be necessary to handicap myself further.
