Washing a Shadower is a commitment, but very rewarding when you're darn-near-un-killable. You can read more about the principles in my Night Lord guide, as formulas for thieves are the same.

2m NX is definitely a great amount to start with. As while you level you can continue to vote and collect the remaining amount.

Unlike the melee classes, thieves don't get a lot of HP from levels. Accounting for the target HP at a higher level provides some marginal gains... 22 hp per level to to exact.

...so aiming for 30k at 180 instead of 150 would add 660 HP that you wouldn't need to wash for (22*30 levels = 660 HP)

What makes a big difference, is carrying your Base INT for more levels, and Resetting Base INT at a higher level. For example, instead resetting your INT at 150, you could do so at level 160, or level 170 to save a decent amount of NX. However, this actually adds a tremendous amount of effort... as while you're saving NX, you're vastly increasing the time and mesos required to leech to such a level (as you'd still be carrying Base INT)

 

if you aim to create a shadower with 10k I would recommend creating a HP Challenge character (https://forum.maplelegends.com/inde...-challenges-system-hp-wash-alternative.51808/) instead washing (maybe create on other acc. and keep voting on your 2m nx account for washing other char after)
Regarding the gear, you dont really need crazy int gear to wash your char. Of course it helps, but you can just increase your base int

 

There's little reason for a Shadower to aim for 10k, or lower. As that's the amount they'll be receiving from the HP Challenges (someday).

Other popular thresholds include 15k, and 18,750 (that's 30k with HB). Though, I should not that might not save you as much NX as you might wish it would.

I'm a huge proponent of the advice:

 

Seeing as you're sitting on 2m NX, which is absolutely fantastic, I want to call out a point here. You only need 2.7m NX by level 150 to have a playable Shadower that can reach 30k (someday). If you already have 2m, the rest you'll likely be able to get in the time it takes you to level to 150.

Self-leech and selling leech is just so good if you have the appetite / energy to invest in it.

Really just depends how hard to want to go.

Many folks who are more casual are better off just focusing on one character.

I'd also push the I/L to at least 120, as that opens up quite a few farming options. That's only like 60m of leech FYI.

But if you want to go all in, you can never go wrong with a Bishop.

The most common "meta" path is Bishop -> Attacker, then add on other characters such as an I/L mage and/or whatever mules you may need for your attacker.

But an "off-meta" path is to make a HS Mule (level 81 priest) and a I/L for higher level leech and farming. You loose the ability to do great low level leech, but you get to the point of being able to do higher level leech and farm higher mobs much faster. ESPECIALLY if you already have a 112 I/L.

Agreed. I'd push the I/L to 120 first. Even if you just leech it straight there. You're so close already, and it's a lot of fun to have the full-map-attack.

Then once you get bored of scroll farming... take a break and spin up those next characters.
