I've been thinking about HP washing and trying to understand how it works in general. I think I understand the basics of it and how its done.

(level up with int gear -> calculate surplus mp -> put ap in hp -> ap reset excess mp into main stat)

However, I've been ruminating and thinking about different techniques and I'm wondering if these would work or what you guys think about it.

    These techinques assume that:
    1. You are well funded
    2. You don't need to fight (you can leech your way to the top)

First, I figured that you could reset your mp into int instead of your main stat. Something like:

(level up with int gear -> calculate surplus mp -> put ap in hp -> ap reset excess mp into int)

This would give you more int to do more hp washing but obviously make you a lot weaker until you can reset your int back into your main stat. Would this work? I know it would take a TON of ap resets but I just wonder if its possible.

The second option I thought of is the same as the first one just putting all AP in int. Something like:

(level up with int gear -> calculate surplus mp -> put ap in int -> ap reset excess mp into int)

Obviously this is even more extreme and will require even more ap resets. But as soon as you reach max int you can start putting points elsewhere. And perhaps with extreme int gear you could reset enough mp to reach 900 int (I think that's max, right?) around maybe level 80 or 90 or so?

Would this even work? (I know this is impractical I'm wondering if it works in theory so you don't need to warn me against trying this.) (Besides, if this works in theory maybe one could come up with a hybrid technique that doesn't require too much more ap resetting so I think its worth thinking about.)

Furthermore, assuming you are going to max out your main stat (lets say luk) eventually. Would it be possible to ap reset your mp into luk until its maxed, and then put your ap into hp? Wouldn't the total amount of ap put in hp end up being the same, while boosting your damage early on?

    Thanks.

It does not work like this. You can't gain extra stats from hp washing. Only extra HP / MP. So you won't be able to ever reach 900 int until late 4th job.

You cannot AP reset out of a stat pool unless you have put an AP into the stat pool. Each main stat is its own pool while HP/MP shares a pool. If you put your main stat into INT, you cannot reset out of MP because you haven't put any AP into HP or MP.

I see... This makes a lot more sense now. But I suppose if you were ready to spend A TON of ap resets, the first method would still work though, right?

(level up with int gear -> calculate surplus mp -> put ap in hp -> ap reset excess mp into int)

edit: by a ton I mean a ton to reset the int back to your main stat at some point.

Having extraordinarily high int will only add to the costs overall. If you want to make an unkillable monster, you only need about ~300 int total to reach 30k HP.

It just requires MP Washing for most levels 50+. Putting a fresh level-up AP into MP, then taking it out of MP and putting it elsewhere will yield (int - 20) / 10 extra MP. So with base int, you'd gain 28 MP per MP wash. Do that for 100 levels and you'll end up with like 18k extra MP, which can be translated to 24k HP, and with your base HP reach 30k.

    Total cost:
    500 resets for MP washing
    296 resets for resetting int
    1500 resets for HP washing

2300 AP Resets total ~7.1mil NX

That is pretty bonkers. If you had even more int maybe you could get 30k HP and 30k MP though. :D
