I noticed a small clerical error for the in-app versioning stating 0.3 under Settings->About.

 

Hi Minethrower,

Would it be possible to display current IP and IP history within the application?
For me personally when I toggle airplane mode with my carrier I don't always get a new IP. It requires me to toggle a few times pretty often.

Showing the current IP in the application with maybe a green highlight to show it hasn't been used recently would be quite helpful with the voting process.
Then maybe a little drop down list to show the past 10 UNIQUE ips used before resetting/refreshing.

Typically I'll have my settings open to show my current IP, toggle airplane mode and wait for the IP to change then go back to the app to continue voting.

Would it be better to show the "time since last change"? For example: You don't need to actually see or compare the two IPs if you just saw the diff: "3 seconds since last IP update".

As a Voter, I want to see the amount of seconds since the last time my IP updated, so that I know of my last Airplane mode toggle successfully updated my IP.

 

Enjoying the new update for sure! The only thing I don't like are the captcha's that are harder to do than the rocks. Even while wearing glasses, they're a bitch to figure out sometimes.

 

This could work for sure, but you would probably need to store unique IP history anyways. It could just be an optional display (i.e. show history vs last time IP updated).

In general though, I think something like this would be helpful to speed up the voting so we aren't jumping between settings to check IP and the app.

 

I generally haven't been using the start button due to the inconsistency to obtain a new IP from my carrier. I often do all my voting throughout the day, sometimes waiting 30 minutes to 1 hour to get a new unique IP.

However, if I did use the start more, seeing the IP within the voting window would be a great idea. I think anything we can do to keep us within the app is good.

That's exactly the one I kept getting. The person that made this should be shot!

 

I remember having less complex puzzles than this one but more than the rocks about half a year ago, it fixed by itself after a while of use (can't remember if it also was the adblocker updating).

 

Yeah it tends to randomly cycle in difficulty for me periodically, guess I'll just wait it out

 

i've been using the app since this jully when it was still in beta. i've never had other captcha other than rocks.
if another kind of captcha appear, go back in airplane mode, use the refresh button and then enable data again

 

That's not a very foolproof way to tackle the problem. I'm fairly sure gtop just rolls out their captcha in a periodic and/or region- and/or device-targeted fashion. Refreshing has very rarely helped me go from a shit captcha to a chill one.

Unfortunately, it seems like if there's a period where shitty captchas regularly appear for you, you're bound to either deal with it or wait it out until a new captcha rolls around.

Yesterday I had the exact same captcha (the one that was screenshotted) over 20 times in a row, despite refreshes. Today I had a much more manageable one over 10 times in a row.

 

Did you enter airplane mode for 3-5 seconds before hitting the refresh button ?
