Unused ETC items in MapleStory?

There are many ETC items that are not being used for any purpose. Let's talk about them!

 

For a long time, Chris in Kerning City has always allowed players to craft one Steel Plate in exchange for 100 Iron Hog's Metal Hoof.

I also feel players should be able to craft Steel Plates through him using a similar amount of Iron Boar Armor instead. Or, perhaps, it could be used in some other capacity.

It came to mind after I noticed a portal in place which allows players to travel between Perion and Ariant via. Iron Boar Land.

 

It might be different here, but at the Henesys Pet Park, you can pick up "Pet poop", and that's said to be a "quest item". I don't think any quest has specifically asked for it before? Like, maybe it was meant to be used in a planned, unreleased quest for pet owners?

The other Poop items from Tippo Red and Tippo Blue in Singapore are also not being used either.

 

Is Bloctopus Blueprint requested for by any quest?

 

I don't believe Lucida Tail are needed for any quests, or asked for in any exchange.

EDIT: I stand corrected: they can be accepted by Eurek to create The Summoning Rock and The Magic Rock.

 

Yeah, there is so much lost potential with the unused items!

Skeledog's Bone and Dirty Bandage

I always thought Winston or another Perion NPC would open a quest asking for them, but I guess not.

 

Balrog Claw was used in iTCG to create Bosshunter Gi, Bosshunter Greaves, and Ridley's Stone.

From what I know, those items are not available, but I think the item could be asked for in a Level 100 quest instead.

 

Some other unused items in Aqua Road: A Bundle of Goby, Butter-Toasted Squid.

Low-levelled mobs also drop Hard Needle, Bubble Fish's Thoughts, Needle, Sea Horse Horn, Flamboyant Scale Skin.

It would be nice if they were used in an exchange or asked for in some way.

Edit: But since it's a regular ETC item, I also think having a regular quest ask for the same item couldn't hurt either.

 

Sentinel Shellpiece has never been used. However, Huckle requested for the other shell pieces, though.

 

I don't believe these items have been asked for in any quests.

• Broken Piece of Pot
• Straw Doll
• Wooden Doll
• Bellflower
• Yellow Belt
• Broken Deer Horn
• Red Belt
• Mr. Alli's Leather
• Mark of the Pirate
• Captain's Hat

These items, however, have been asked for in quests:

• Ginseng-Boiled Water
• 100-Year-Old Bellflower
• Old Paper
• Peach Seed
• Cat Doll

But it seems that all of these items can be accepted by Mr. Do at Mu Lung. Last year, there was a suggestion made about improving Mr. Do's current design. At the moment, he only creates potions and 100% scrolls.

 

Big Boss Flashlight is accepted by Konpei to exchange for Elixir. Aside from that, the item is not used anywhere else.

 

Yeah, many ETC items simply become memorabilia for players as time goes by.
